The 3C's annual Charity Promises Auction takes place on Wednesday 29 May. The auction will take place at it's usual location on Calis promenade outside the Nil Bar and Bambu Restaurants.
We have some great promises pledged for this very popular and important fundraising event which is the premier fundraising event of the 3C's year and all proceeds from the auction go directly to help the children in the local area.
Thanks to the generosity of our "pledgers" and our bidders and the expertise of our brilliant auctioneer Rimms, last years auction raised a record 14,500 TL and it would be amazing if we could equal or better this total in 2013.
A list of the "promises" pledged so far will follow this post and I will then add to this list on a regular basis as new "promises" come in. If anyone would like to pledge a "promise" or donate an item for the auction please could you e-mail me via my profile or you can ring 0536 3739520. All "promises" will be gratefully accepted.
As, in previous years, if you are unable to attend the auction and would like to bid for an item (or items ) you will be able to make e-mail commission bids both from Turkey and from the UK. Bidding instructions both for those attending on the night and for those wishing to make e-mail commission bids are shown below.
So over the next few weeks, keep looking and see if there is anything that takes your fancy. It is great fun, a great way to grab a bargain and a great way to help make real changes to the lives of local children here in the Fethiye district.
BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS
Here are the details for bidding, both for those who are able to attend the auction and for those who are bidding by e-mail.
ON THE NIGHT
Those attending on the night wanting to make bids will be asked to complete a form on arrival at the restaurants giving your name address and contact details. You will then be provided with a "Bidding Number" card and an auction catalogue (cost 1TL) as in UK auctions. You will also be able to pre-register and obtain a bidding card during the day at the Nil Restaurant and also the day before at the auction publicity stand, again next to the Nil Restaurant.
You will not be able to bid unless you have a bidding card. This makes it easier both for the auctioneer and for administering the winning bids.
Money will be collected on the night where possible, "Promises" issued and official receipts given. For those unable to pay on the night, payment will be required within 7 days of the close of auction or the item will be withdrawn. In these cases the "Promise" will not be issued until the payment is received.

COMMISSION BIDS BY E-MAIL
For those bidding by e-mail, please e-mail me with your commission bid through my profile on this forum or send an e-mail to threecscharity@hotmail.com
Advise us what you are bidding on, your minimum bid and how much you are prepared to bid up to and our auctioneer will bid on your behalf up to your maximum bid - just like a real auction or on e-bay. Internet bids will be accepted up to 12 midnight Turkish time (10.00 pm English time) on the night of Tuesday 28 May when this facility will close.
All e-mail bids received will be acknowledged within 24 hours of receipt.
If you are a winning bidder we will e-mail you the day following the auction and advise how much the item has cost you. It will not necessarily be your maximum bid. We will then advise you how to make your payment (there are different methods depending on whether you are in UK or Turkey). Payment will be required within 7 days of the auction or your bid will be void.
You will receive a copy of your "Promise" signed by the person donating by e-mail giving full contact details of how to contact them and how to claim your promise as well as a receipt for your payment once the funds have cleared through our account. A hard copy of the "Promise form" will also be sent to you in UK by the next supporter who is returning to UK. We will also arrange for any physical goods to be delivered to you as and when this can be arranged. Alternatively your winning lot will be held at the 3C’s shop until you are out on holiday - it is your choice.

Boxed set of Silver Plated Art Deco tea spoons and matching sugar tongs. The set was retailed by A.Munro & Co., Dumbarton Road, Partick, Glasgow and their name is printed in gold on the blue satin interior of the box. The spoons and sugar tongs where made by William Hutton & Sons (marked on each piece W.H.&.S), one of the most respected and famous Silver and Silver Plate manufacturers and would have been a luxury item when new. These spoons are dating circa 1920. The set is approximately 93 years old. They are in the famous Art Deco "Shell" pattern. Spoons and tongs measures 4 1/2" long. All in immaculate unused condition.
