This has probably been mentioned before but worth a reminder, a couple today had the misfortune to be given a counterfeit 50 TRY note, they didn't notice until they tried to pay with it later in the day. It was paler than the usual 50 TRY notes and did not have the metal strip running through it. They think they got it in one of the shops in Fethiye.
Forewarned is forearmed, as the say.
