Was thinking on upgrading my shower cubicle on my next visit.Any recommendations on where I should look?I'm thinking about a china type shower tray and persplex or glass framed cubicle.Basically something a bit more substantial than I have just now.thx.

The new Tekzen shop as a good selection it is across from the first Kipa about 100m further down towards fethiye.

Mark, thanks, these look exactly like what i want.Do you know if they offer a fitting service,or could recommend someone to install and remove old unit?

We went to a shop opposite and just down the road from Kipa and found it very expensive, not sure if it's the same one Mark is speaking about. We crossed the road and went passed Kipa to a Bathroom Shop (on the same side). It's on the next block going toward Fethiye and it has marble steps in front of it.
We went in there and found it so much cheaper. We found a good selection of things and we initially where looking for a new sink for the shower room. We ended up getting a really nice unit with storage underneath. and a mirror with lighting. We picked a sink and taps. This was at 4.00pm in the afternoon, we asked about fitting and they made a phone call and the guys where around at 9.00am the next morning.
I have to say they made a lovely job, we where worried about the tiling in the bathroom, but they took the old sink out and put the new unit in without any damage or cracked tiles.
After we had it fitted we found out that this shop is used by lots of House Maintenance Companies when a client asked for an new bathroom equipment.

We used the same company. We saved 200 TL on the glass shower screens alone..
-
thanks Jacqui and Mercury..would you know the name of the company?I'm over in a few weeks,I
hope to visit the places recommended.

I know that Jim Fraser knows it. If he does not look in today, I will ask him for you.

Will have a look at that shop name on Monday.
Tekzen, have some pretty decent prices on shower units, but do not fit them.

Across the road from Tekzen and about 200 meteres towards the Otogar roundabout
I think this is the ond Jacqui was hinking of.

No, that's the one we went in and it was really expensive. The other one is on the same side as Kipa going towards Fethiye. It's a row of shops and has marble steps going up to it. Your mission Jim, if you choose ot accept it, is to find the correct shop... This message may or may not self destruct within a week... ;D ;)

MMM OK, there is another bathroomy type shop to the right on the photo, maybe that was it. will see soon - if the roads are passable..........
-
Guys, thanks for all your help.I know the area roughly,so if I dont hear any more I will explore myself when out in a few weeks.
-
Yes Jacqui's one is mext door.
Also there are a couple of good cheap plumber shops across from Homeprof who give set prices for fitting items bought in their shop.
-
Any idea if they can fit handles to the walls to help my mother in and out of the shower and estimated cost?
-
I am sure they could , but you would have to ask the price. My son is a plumber, but he always says there are lots of factors involved in every job so each one has a differnet cost.
-
Lucky having a son who is a plumber - does he come out to your villa to fix things? :D
-
No, however, he said he would if he had the tools. He is handy to have at home, as he showed me the latest bendy kitchen tap that he was fitting in someone's house, so I got him to get me one too.. I love it, plus got it for trade and it's fitted for free.
