Can anyone advise please.. I have a flight booked with EJ for three weeks Monday and due to having an operation last week I am pretty sure I wont be needing the ticket... One option is for me to try and sell it on but I dont think it will be snapped up think I paid £250 with 20 kilo luggage time someone pays the name change that is another £35.... anyway I thought about paying the £35 and what ever the cost of a new flight will be but do not kow when I will be able to fly...does anyone know please what Easyjet's policy is for cancelling a flight and whether I would get any money back at all from them?many thanks for any help with this and apolgies for any speling errors as I am having to type lying down :(

Your flight is non-refundable. Your only option would be to change your flight to a later date.

Don't let them resell it, just don't turn up! And who knows, three weeks on Monday you might just feel like you could use them :)
-
did not think of that Keith so they can not resell it :)i dont think it is going to very likely i will be able to fly maybe i will give it all another week to decide what to do thanks :)

The following link from NHS Choices might help you make a decision. Hopefully a week from now you will be feeling much better.

Rather than lose all your money, if you feel there is no chance of you using your ticket, you would be better changing your flight to a later date.

thank you for that link Marrgie it is brilliant, I can not believe you can fly seven daysafter brain surgery I dont think I would want to!!!mine comes under a major,I think I will see how it goes (I have had a little set back today so my thoughts turned to sortin my flight out)what I will do is look at the prices with a view to changing to a bit later and pay the£35...

Don't forget that if its a return flight, they charge you £35 each way.
-
no Fran really I thought it would be a one off fee >:(does this apply to all airlines sorry but I have never had to change a flight before)!

I had a similar experience with Premier Inn. Booked a hotel for a wedding and they changed the dates. No refund so I wrote a nice letter to see if they would let me change hotels. The reply was no way and please ring to cancel your booking. My reply was - I might come or I might not. Please keep the room open for me.
They ain't renting it out to someone else without a fight ;)

I paid £250 with 20 kilo luggage time someone pays the name change that is another £35....
That may be to your advantage. The problem is that you pay the £35, plus the difference between what you paid and what a seat on the new flight costs now. This can be hundreds more if you booked cheap and early.
At least you won't have to find a huge amount more if you change to another flight.

Yes it applies to all airlines, (charter ones anyway) they charge you to change all legs of the journey.
