Title: The Big One! - the 3C's Annual Promises Auction

The  popular annual Charity “Promises Auction” organised by Calis Children's Charity, the 3C's,  takes place on Wednesday 29 May. The popular auction which is now in its 6th year, will take place on Çalış promenade outside the Nil Bar and the Bambu restaurants and many amazing lots will be auctioned throughout the evening.   Auctioneer extroadinaire Rimms will set up his podium on the promenade and will be banging his gavel down hard  from 7.00 pm prompt

The 3C's already have some great promises pledged for this very popular and important fundraising event which is the premier fundraising event of their year and all proceeds from the auction go directly to help the children in the local area. Thanks to the generosity of previous "pledgers" and “bidders” last year’s auction raised a staggering 14,500 TL which went a long way to helping fund worthwhile projects for the local children. The 3C’s would love to equal or better this total in 2013.

A list of the "promises" pledged to date, which will appeal to tourists and residents alike, will be updated regularly on the 3C's charity section of this forum as they come in, right up until the day before the auction.  Instructions on how to bid either in person or through the internet will follow shortly.

If anyone would like to pledge a "promise" or donate an item for this very special charity auction please could you ring the charity on 0536 3739520 or PM me through the forum.   All “promises” will be gratefully accepted.

For promises received so far please check out the link below.  The list of promises which is being updated regularly, will (thanks to Keith) remain at the top of the 3C's section of this forum until after the auction.

We have just had some more lovely vintage jewellery and collectables very generously "promised" by CBF's own antiques expert Jacqui Harvey together with some 100% genuine designer items very kindly promised by Lotty and her daughter - so check out the latest updated list of lots at the top of the 3C's section of this forum       :)

Well done Lotty and her daughter.

But I think special mention should be made of jacqui harvey. Jacqui sometimes gets a bad press on here, in truth sometimes from myself, but she has always been one of the first to support anything I have done on the Forum and when it comes to the auction she always provides loads of "promises" which I'm sure raise lots of money for the children.

Thanks "H" but I am just one of many who like to support this Charity :-[  and I always think whatever I give I get it back in lots of non material ways.   As for "bad press" from you... never, we just like to have a bit of banter  which I think, we both enjoy...  ;) ;D

Thank you H,  I agree with Jacqui, it's such a worthwhile cause and nothing compared to the marvellous, dedicated work from the committee who make all this happen. Very humbling.

Well George and Pete had a very successful if very tiring day today when they went out in Fethiye on a "Promise" hunt.  It seems that at last word is starting to spread amongst the Turkish community about what the 3C's charity is doing to help  local children and as a result they have picked up some real crackers for the auction and I will be adding a few of these to the list every day throughout this week so please keep looking.  If you don't see what you want today, there is sure to be something that you would like over the next few days.

We have also had new promises from CBF's own Blueclad and Basnshir so please take a look

If any of you wonderful people out there are able to donate a promise we would gratefully accept and all money raised will go to the children. We will accept new Lots right up until the day before the auction.

Full details of how to bid both at the auction and online will be published this weekend when advance commission online bidding will commence.

We will be adding our "Health section" of the auction tonight and boy have we got some really great promises for you courtesy of well respected Fethiye dentist Cagtay Aras and the Esnaf Hospital.  Take a look and see later this evening and you could be on the way to saving yourself lots of money   :).

I'd like to donate some jewellery but I don't arrive until the day of the auction and almost certainly after it's finished.   :( :( :(

Is there anyone going out in advance that I could post it to please?  I'll send photos so that you can see what you're letting yourself in for.

Suzzpuss, the fact that you arrive after the auction doesn't have to be a problem. If you send a photo & description to Pi55y, she can add to the catalogue with a rider that the item won't be available for collection until 30th May

That's great.  I may do that.  If anyone is able to take it over for me though I'd be grateful as I'm going over to furnish my place and I've got a ton of stuff to take over with me.  Not sure it'd fit in the luggage!!  One way or the other I'll make it work.

Bidding instructions have now been added to the Auction list so anyone who wishes to make an e-mail bid from UK or Turkey who cannot attend on the night, you can now do so right up until midnight Turkish time (10.00 pm English time) on Tuesday 28 May

Hi all, sorry I have been away for a couple of days, but we have had lots of new promises come in during this time including beginners dive days from European diving centre and lots of lovely jewellery items from Sue Piggott (Suzzpuss) from the forum.  I have now put some of these on - the rest will follow tomorrow and over the weekend.

Don't forget you are now able to make commisssion bids so have a look at the list and the instructions on how to bid.

Loads more promises added and firmed up today - thank you everyone for your generosity.

Take a look and see what we now have on offer and dont forget commission bids are now being taken  from anyone who is unable to be there on the night.   Details on how to bid are shown at the top of the list (see the link below).  Those who have already put in bids, thank you.  You will be notified if you have been successful the day after the auction.

More promises added today - we are now up to 130 lots and still more to put on (just need to find out where I put the new paperwork - thinks it must be in the car under Pavarotti's fat suit!!!!    ;))

It was a really fruitful day today as members of the 3C's made an all out effort to collect more promises for the auction  - there are  at least aother 20 to add to the list tomorrow but I am too tired now as have just got back from the"Fethiye Rocks" concert.  Will make an early start tomorrow so please take a look then - and don't forget that there are only 4 days left to make on-line bids   :)

New promises are now added and they include the ever popular night in the Delta Hotel Roof Top honeymoon suite, another adult bicycle, lots of meals, trips, a camera, watches and much much more.....  take a look   :)

This facility closes at midnight (Turkish time) on Tuesday night 28 May  (10.00 pm British time)

With a massive 167 Lots the list is now complete.  For your information, if you are attending on the night,  the lots have been sorted into a different order than that shown on CBF.
