Has anything 'official' been published about this ?
(I might need to lose 3 stone before we arrive   ;) )

'Hubby and I tried to apply for SGK this morning but as of 1st May new rules apply.  You now have to have several health checks accompanied by specialist reports and these checks have to be done at the devlet as they will not accept them from any other source. Only when you have completed the relevant health check will they accept your application and you are not guaranteed to be put on the scheme if they are not happy with the results. It would appear they only want you on there if there confident you are not going to claim.'

Firo, this was posted earlier today, so it looks as though things may be changing?

Going down the same road as BUPA. They wont treat you for existing or pre-existing problems.  Maybe they'v discovered that there are people claiming, who had problems of which they SGK were not aware of and it's proving costly. As well as that, they'll make money from the health checks at the Devlet.

do you still have to back pay to when the sgk started if you have a medical?

We also still don't know what will happen with the new, proposed visa rules.
