The Airport for the Oil Capital of Europe.. What a joke. We decided to arrive 3.30 hours early as our flight with T.C. was sub contracted to Freebird so, no way to book seats in advance or to know if there is food available on the flight. Got through the check-in quite smoothly, the girl thought there would be food on the flight but not sure. We decided to go straight through the customs gate. We could not believe it, the queue went from the Customs to the door of the Airport. We thought we would get some food first and wait for the queue to go down. Went to the restaurant at 5.00pm. No hot food available. So, got in the queue for Customs. Eventually after a long time, got through and went to the bar/restaurant. Struggled to find a seat. When we did my seat had a ripped seat with all the foam hanging out. We where told there was a 30 minute wait for hot food. So, got a drink and I nipped over to Boots for a couple of salads and wraps..
The flight is delayed by an hour now.
I just wonder what visitors to Aberdeen must think of this Airport, it's far too small and totally pathetic. I cannot believe and Airport would have no hot food at one restaurant and a 30 minute wait at another. Incidentally a burger is £10.95.
Rant Over.... Roll on Calis...

Sounds like Dalaman's got a challenger.

Jacqui you can pay for priority security, avoids the queues
-
Jackie, it is possible to pre-book seats on Freebird flights by going direct to their website and quoting your Thomas Cook Booking Ref. I had no difficulties doing so last year on a flight to Norwich and anticipate none this year either.

No priority booking at Aberdeen and can not pre book seats
-
Well I can assure you I have done so....bought the flight via FTC, then gone on the Freebird Website and booked the seats I wanted. It's certainly possible.

There certainly is priority security at Aberdeen airport, it costs us £5 per person each time we go through that way and avoids the queues.
Mind you sometimes we pay and there is no queue!
-
Too posh to queue eh ? ;)
-
Nah just too much money lol ;)

No priority when we went through as there where far too many people to cope with. We have never seen a queue like that one before, so we would never have needed to pay before now.
