This years Çalış Spring Fair and Craft Market which takes place this Sunday will be the biggest ever with well over 130 stalls booked.
The popular annual fair organized by Çalış Children’s Charity (3C’s) which is now in its 6th year, will take place in the main street in Çalış between the Dolphin junction and the water taxi bridge. Stalls will set up along both sides of the road which will be closed to traffic for the day, as well as along the side road to Scarlet’s Bar. They will be selling a huge range of crafts and handmade goods varying from driftwood and paper butterfly pictures, ceramics, leather work, appliqué, wood and marble items to hand-made soaps, jewellery, garden ornaments, cards, soft toys, home-made jams and preserves and all kinds of paintings. There will also be several local charity stalls raising money for their good causes.
The market will be open from 11.00 to 17.00 pm and all net profits from stall fees and the 3C’s charity stall will go to help fund children’s projects in the Çalış/Fethiye area.

A little bird has told me that we may have a very famous Italian opera singer belting out a few high notes at tomorrow's Spring Fair :)

spent a lovely 6 hours at the Craft Fayre today. All the stall holders were so friendly and their 'wares' were very specialised. The local charities had their stalls which satisfied our gambling needs with their raffles and tombolas.Music from 'Pavarotti' helped pass the long hours when customers tailed off.A ghood time was had by all, buyers and sellers.

Blown away with the organisation of this event. It's humongous. Good variety of goods for sale, I was lucky in a couple of the raffles, and God bless all the stall holders keeping their cool in the extreme heat of today. Well done all

Well done everybody. A really good turn-out for so many good causes.

Down at the Craft Fair today, really enjoyed it. It was very well attended. Bought some sausages from Mark and some nice Murano Glass Jewellery and a lovely handmade Doll. Also won a raffle. I think a lot of money was made today... Roll on the Auction....

I have to say that Tony (AKA Pav) was just wonderful today, several people passing asked me if he was miming, simply because he sounds so authentic. After being there since 07.00 this morning, helping set out around 600 steel tables, removing street bollards, setting up the sound system, intervening with stall holders who had forgot their table number, set up on the wrong pitch, moved the tables we had set out and numbered, hadn't booked in the first place but set up a pitch, had booked two tables but demanded four, etc, etc, etc !
I stood there and watched his performance and thought to myself " WOW " even the bad things seem good.

This is the first one I've missed so am looking forward to some pics.
Glad it went well and hopefully raised lots for the charities.

In a nutshell George (you made me laugh) but spot on - a great day - another event well and truly installed on the Annual Calis Calendar and growing :D

So how come I can't stand on it this morning Liz ?
I'm under strict instructions from Dr Chris to rest it today otherwise I won't get a fit for purpose pass for the promotion day tomorrow and the auction on Wednesday. The crutches are primed and ready, just in case !

I have a spare wheelchair at the mom - give me a shout if you need it

Burnt.. Aching all over from walking miles up and down in the heat flogging raffle tickets. For which we raised over 600tl...Was it worth it.? It certainly was..... Unfortunatley I wont get to see any of the children we are are helping this year but I will NEVER forget the others... Charity Auction next.. and George you dont get out of it that easy... Well done all the hard working committee yesterday.. Chrissie and Dizzy Jans organisational skills are amazing. No one knows the work involved in the bookings. Table planning. Lists upon lists. Conformation phone calls to all the stall holders... and lets not forget "The meetings".....I certainly wont lol... Good luck with the Promises Auction guys. I will be hobbling along there... x

It was a superb day and we are the A***** team and all work together. The sun blazed, people browsed, everyone seemed so chilled, we had Pav to entertain us and send shivers up your spine, that takes some doing in that heat!!! Every stall holder paid happily and most of all folk spent their cash!!!! You couldnt ask for more, well we could lol ;)
-
Yet another unbelievable result. I simply do not know how you manage it every time - except through sheer hard graft and determination of course :)

Fantastic day. Well done for yet another successful day.
