I've been given a shopping list for the market by my family - has anyone bought any of these and roughly what did you pay-
Chanel etc bath sheets
Kids Converse trainers
Ralph Lauren Polo type t shirts
I never know what is reasonable so don't want to pay over the odds as I won't be reimbursed for them - can't take money off my kids bless 'em ;)

Hi my wife bought similar things in May
Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts 75 TL for 3 ( med adult)
Vans trainers they were adult size though 20TL
and also bath sheets but has no idea what she paid she was that confused by the time she'd bought other items as well !!
Possibly paid over the odds but very difficult to know
Hope this helps

That's given me some steer - thanks Buddy.

large bath sheets at the sunday market were 3 for £20.00 ( harrods, channel and others )

There are a couple of qualities for the Polo shirts one is very thin and cheap the other is much better material. They charge £10.00 each for them in the Markets and in the shops also. Three for £25.00. The poor quality ones are much cheaper.
The trouble with the Chanel and Burberry Towels are the bits drop off them all the time. There is a couple who sell towels in Calis Market and also in Fethiye Market. They always have the best towels we have bought off them lots of times. The way to recognise them is, they always have Turkish customers around their stall. They also have un-named made in Turkey towels which are the best, we and some of our family have brought them back home to use.

Thanks all.

We too had a nightmare with towels! The bits seemed to get everywhere and even after washing were no better.....

Vans / converse check under the inner soles as last year there were 2 kinds.
Some better quality than others. Got ours from a guy in the far corner. Very helpful and even pointed out the quality differences.

I've always been tempted to buy a set of these lovely looking 'designer' bath towels but have only really decided against it due to lack of luggage space. With a cream landing carpet my choice of navy bath towels probably wouldn't be such a good idea considering they leave bits everywhere! I may still be temped by the 'made in Turkey' ones - will just have to limit my hubby to a few pair of shorts and a couple of tops to make room for them!

I reckon the towel sellers you refer to jacqui are the ones I use. Ill schleppe passed a dozen stalls to find them. I've had towels I bought when we got our place in 04 that are as good as new!

Over the years my daughter and I have bought the big thick 'designer' bath sheets from the Tuesday market. I don't remember any fluff on ours. In fact my daughter bought more the following year. They are still in great condition. I can't remember how much we paid but a bargain compared to UK.

Slightly off topic here, but this time I bought 2 of the Turkish bed covers. The ones that I used to think we're like damask table cloths! They're called 'Pike',( peekay) I'm so pleased with them, in hot weather they're slightly more substantial than just a thin sheet and I love the dense texture. Only 40 tl each. Try buying similar in John Lewis and were talking over £100.

They sound great, can you give idea whereabouts in the market they are please
-
Do you mean the bedding? I bought them in a shop called Azra on the top road in in Fethiye. Up from the dolmus station turn left, cross over (at your peril!) about 120 metres along. Some of them just look like cellular throw/blankets but the ones I bought are original and heavier. Does this help?

I have bought the converse for myself, they are not as durable as the originals, and the tend to have plastic rather than rubber soles, but they still look pretty authentic, I think I paid 25TL last year for pink ones, still going strong!
