Not long back from another trip to Calis and want to recommend a reastaurant that is well worth a visit and that is the Amatist. We wandered in on our way home, one Wednesday night and there was a Brit playing the guitar and singing and he was really worth listening to. We decided, that weekend to go there and have a meal.To start with we ordered Garlic Bread for two, one would have been sufficient as we got five slices each and you could really taste the garlic. For the main course, I had a chicken curry whilst my wife had chicken breast in creamy mushroom sauce, she was thrilled at the size of the chicken. As for me, what I had did taste like a chicken curry....very rare in a lot of places in Calis....and for the first time for many moons, I cleared my plate. I forget what our bill was but I remember thinking that it was cheap. I know that the main meals were 15 YTL each. The main thing was it was good and the service was excellent.

Hi Des, it is on the corner of the roundabout, opposite the Meri Bar.

Just goes to show everyone has different tastes and idea of service. I went there with my family of 8 and I would say the service was poor and very slow. The food at best was average and the chicken shish was the driest I have had anywhere. The best thing was the big puffy bread.

We are fans of this Restaurant too, I have always wondered why it doesn't get much support on here. Service for us has always been spot on, the food is not fancy but always well cooked and good value.
