Title: Playing the Turkish Sayisal 6/49 Lottery
Post by: hillbillybill on July 31, 2013, 15:35:45 PM
During stays at the Cenk Bey in Calis, a lot of guests (myself included) would fill in tickets for the Saturday night Turkish 6/49 lottery and then one of the staff would take the tickets to Gunlukbasi and put them on at the lottery shop there.
Does anyone know if it is possible to open an account with Milli Piyango (The Government department that runs the lottery) and play the Sayisal Loto 6/49 from a bank account, just as we can here in the UK with the 6/49 National Lottery? This would mean that people like myself could play the Turkish lottery all year round, instead of just when we are in Turkey for holidays.
The price of one line on the UK 6/49 National Lottery will soon be rising to £2. For 6TL (just over £2) on the Sayisal Loto 6/49 you can get 8 lines = 8 more chances of winning for the same cash and the same odds.
Any ideas about how to go about playing the Turkish Lottery while living in the UK would be most welcome.

Try claiming your winnings if you are not a Turkish citizen !!

I just got this reply from the Turkish Lottery Administration:

  Dear Bill Hartley,

Sayısal Loto 6/49 and other games are only played by Turkish National Lotterry Administration's terminal machines.Games can be played only before 4 weeks. It ıs not possible to sell the tickets by a bank.

    Turkish National Lotterry Administration

So that's knackered that job!

Thanks for your reply, GordonA. It looks like I will have to say goodbye to all the local sheep, move to Turkey and become a Turkish National if I want to play their lottery every week. I wouldn't have renewed my Burnley Football Club season ticket if I had known!

My Big Plan was to open a Turkish bank account and play the same 82 lines every week by Direct Debit/Standing Order. This would have cost me 61.50TL (just over £20) per week. To do the same here with the UK Lottery would cost £164 twice a week (Wednesdays & Saturdays) = £328 per week. A big difference.
As we now know, this isn't going to happen as tickets can only be bought at lottery terminals and only for a maximum of four weeks at a time.
However, just out of interest, here are the 82 lines that I was going to use:

01,02,03,30,34,46             04,05,07,14,34,45             09,10,25,30,43,47
01,04,15,25,29,36             04,06,09,13,17,21             09,12,16,31,34,42

01,06,14,35,38,47             04,12,26,30,33,37             09,20,22,40,46,48

The results of the Sayisal 6/49 Loto are available here: http://www.millipiyango.gov.tr/sonuclar/_cs_sayisal.php

One thing's for sure - if it loses money, it loses a lot less money in Turkey than it does in the UK. Always look on the bright side of life  ;D

By the way, I asked permission from Admin first, before posting any stuff about doing the Turkish 6/49 Lottery.

Just checked last night's Sayisal 6/49 Lottery result at: http://www.millipiyango.gov.tr/sonuclar/_cs_sayisal.php
Winning Numbers: 09,13,25,30,35,47
Using the 82 lines above would have given one line with 4 correct (31.75TL) and one line with 3 correct (5.35TL). The winning lines were the top line in the 3rd column and the 14th line down in the 3rd column.
Anyone using these 82 lines would have got more than half of their stake money back, making next week's lottery a lot cheaper to play. It's all about Damage Limitation and staying in the game while waiting for the Big One   ;)

Gordon, is there any truth in your comment " try claiming your winnings if your not a tukish citizen "  ?    For 7 months a year when in Turkey, I  regularly do the turkish  lottery ( thursday draws ) but always wondered  would there be a problem if I  hit the `big one     ( I wish lol ) so is there a problem if you are not a turkish citizen ?

Pardon my numptyness but is this the same lottery as the ones the old boys stand in the street and sell tickets for, if yes, then I@ve won on that before and got my winnings.

Hi Ceni,
The lottery we are talking about here is the Sayisal 6/49 Loto where you fill in a slip, picking 6 numbers from 49 for each line, and then take the ticket to a lottery terminal - just like we do here in the UK when playing the National Lottery. The only difference is the Turkish version is a hell of a lot easier on the pocket   :)
When in Calis, the nearest shop with a lottery terminal is up the road in Gunlukbasi.
The results for the lottery can be found online at: http://www.millipiyango.gov.tr/sonuclar/_cs_sayisal.php

Hope this helps,

Hillbillybill.

Thanks, Loz, for posting this information.

I recently came across a company called The Lotter who say they will buy your tickets for you, etc.
http://www.thelotter.com/play.aspx?pageId=8&lotteryid=139&player=0
Trouble is, they charge $8.4 (approximately 16.32 TL) to play 8 lines for you. Playing 8 lines at a lottery terminal in Turkey costs just 6 TL, so The Lotter are charging nearly three times the face value for each line played. Not a good deal.
I think I would rather leave a wad of cash with one of the workers at the hotel next time I'm in Calis and ask him to nip up to Gunlukbasi once every 4 weeks to renew my tickets in return for a share of the winnings.   :)

Winning numbers for Week 4 (24-08-2013): 03,06,14,25,38,39

Results at: http://www.millipiyango.gov.tr/sonuclar/_cs_sayisal.php

Two lines with three correct numbers this week = 2 X 5.45 TL = 10.90 TL

The first winning line is in the first column, 3rd line down, and the second winning line is in the third column, 17th line down.

By the way, the 82 lines have been compiled using The 'Golden-Balls' Lottery Syndicate Creator. This free system guarantees that you will have the first two numbers drawn in one of your 82 lines. The system works with any 6/49 Lottery and means that you only need to get 4 correct numbers instead of 6.

Nice one, Scorcher  ;D !

The only problem is: the only time I actually play these numbers is when I am in Turkey (see earlier posts), so they will probably come up when I'm not there!

If anyone in the Calis area is interested in getting together with a few friends and starting their own 'Golden Balls' Turkish 6/49 Lottery Syndicate, all the details are here: www.lotterywinningsyndicates.com  The total cost is about £20 per week... a fraction of what it would cost to play the same lines in the UK National Lottery. The nearest Lottery Terminal is just up the road in Gunlukbasi. You never know... it could be YOU  :D

I, personally, started with the affliction after I retired and couldn't find anything better to do with my time. If you ever visit Colne, you will know what I mean. Even the pigeons fly upside-down over the town because, so I've been told, there's nowt worth sh***ing on here  ;D !
No wardrobe malfunctions from PJ this time, Scorcher. He did mention it, and thanked Mary Whitehouse for all the free publicity she got for him in the sixties. Here's a photo I took of him on Saturday - still a great voice at nearly 75 years old:

Thanks for reminding me about Christmas, Scorcher! I've promised the wife a new vacuum cleaner for Xmas, so I must nip to Argos tomorrow before I go to Wetherspoon's. Talking about Wetherspoon's... they sell bottles of Efes, but somehow it just doesn't taste as good as it does when you're sat on the front in Calis drinking Efes while you watch the sun go down. Has anyone else noticed this?

And the same to you HB - let's hope that 2014 brings you the big result ! ps are you keeping a record of your wins so far as against the outlay ?
Title: Re: Playing the Turkish Sayisal 6/49 Lottery

Hi Scorcher,
No,I don't keep a record of wins v outlay. As I can only actually play these numbers when in Turkey (see earlier posts), I just check them each week to see what would have happened. Not really a good idea if the numbers do come up and I'm not there  :'( !
The 82 lines used guarantee that the first two numbers drawn in the 6/49 lottery will be together in at least one of the 82 lines. This means that you only need to get 4 correct numbers, instead of 6, as you know you already have the first 2 numbers. Not as easy as it sounds when you consider that the odds of getting all 6 numbers are nearly 14 million to 1 ! But at least it's a start. And the small wins help to offset the cost of future entries.

Hi Loz,

Yep! The dream still lives on!

I've even changed my profile photo to a picture of me and one of my mates discussing the virtues of lottery syndicates while enjoying some mint-sauce butties on the top of Pendle Hill! How's that for dedication?  8)

All the best for 2014.

With you dedication to studying the lottery if you ever start to do a syndicate for UK I will be your first client, I will be happy to sit back and await my winning cheque   ;)
