Personally, you should be fine.  We have used Sugar Boat Trips and I would say that on your own, it should not be a problem.  You can either keep yourself to yourself, or socialise with others on board.  It's your choice!

I have holidayed on my own several times since my husband died, the thing to do is to act as though there is somebody with you who is just not up to a boat trip, market outing, or a long walk along the prom. The other thing is to have a good book, kindle or newspaper you can pick up when you get fed up with the couple canoodling beside you, or the family group sharing their sandwiches.  My friend does not swim or like being in direct sunshine, so on our last trip together she stayed at one end of the boat, while I joined the swimming crowd at the other.  Nobody knew who was with who anyway.  Its only a problem if you let it be.

Don't put too much faith in your SatNav once you get outside of Turkish territorial waters.

I think you'll have a lovely time, Maria.

I find the boat trips to be very sociable and I spend very little time with my family and much of it talking to others, as do my family members!
There were three ladies travelling on their own on the last 12 Island trip I went on in May. A British lady, a Turkish lady and a Greek lady. They ended up having a right old chin wag. We could hear them hooting with laughter for most of the trip.  :D

I went on a Calis boat trip yesterday where I only knew one of the people.
We all had a lovely day and planned a date to get together again next month.
The small boats make it so easy to get to know people as you all sit around the table together for lunch, impossible not to get involved in a natter.
Enjoy! Xx

That's the ones Maria, worth going just or the wonderful food!
You can just go down and ask if there's a space and book one on a day to suit.

Merhaba Highlander, we either rent a small speed boat from Olu Deniz or usually either Popeye or Olive oil, im a creature of habit and have done the later 4 to 6 times for the last 6 holidays! is there much difference in the trips from fethiye ?

Just avoid Tim's Tours on Calis Prom. The guy (sorry, forgotten his name, but its not Tim) 'talks the talk', but certainly doesn't deliver!  He took our money and didn't pick us up as arranged.  We did get the money back when I threatened to create a scene outside his selling pitch, but we had to pay for an expensive taxi ride to Fethiye to get on another boat trip before they all left for the day.

Hi all, have been a member for a couple of years, but don't usually post as a rule. My family and I have just returned fom Calis and spent three days on Jerry boat (De ja Vu). I must recommend this trip.
Having meant to have done this last time we were over, I can only wish we had. Free taxi pick up and drop off to Calis and Jerry is such a lovely man and so passionate about nature, the environment and fishing of course! My husband and son are keen fisherman and were able to catch all kinds of fish including a tuna which are all cooked for lunch. Jerry's wife is equally lovely and spends her morning in the gally kitchen cooking the most lovely of lunches with at least 15 or 16 salads, garlic bread not to mention stopping in one of the bays in the afternoon for her home made cake which is gorgeous. Plenty of swimming, snorkelling, fishing or generally lazing around on deck there are only 20 or so people and everyone I have met have been great. Can't wait for next year   :)

We had a super day out last week on Ali,s boat, so relaxing took us to the bays we wanted to go to, the food was fantastic and just kept coming. Mid afternoon fresh fruit salad then later on homemade chocolate cake and coffee plus we were accompanied by two dolphins for part of the day. Brilliant day can certainly recommend Ali,s boat trips.

I have been on dozens of boat trips over the years, from resorts all over Turkey, and I have never had a bad day. I always have a fabulous time, the food can vary a bit, some manage a bit more choice than others, but for what you pay you can't really complain. I have also been on several boat trips as a lone female, and as the others have said, no one seems to notice or care. You can join in and socialise, or keep yourself to yourself, I'm sure you won't be the only single one on the boat. Enjoy  8)

Definitely going to try the Calis boats this September after those reviews. Thank you, Cobbydalers and Sarahd.

Very much enjoyed the Kardesler 12 Island Trip from Fethiye in May. Amazingly good value and such a gorgeous way to spend your day.
