Many Forum Members have never met for whatever reason. Who would you most like to meet, & perhaps have a drink with ?
I will realise my own "burning ambition" this weekend, when I meet Lance. ;) (Only because I have a wee pressie for him! ) Just kiddin' Lance. C'mon folks, seriously, who would it be?? ;D
-
I've met loads of members of course but still some I hope to cross paths with. Notably Pookie, we have missed each other by days with our holiday dates so many times it's untrue. Also (but no exclusively) Steve B (supposed to join us on a boat trip and missed the bus...), Suzzpuss, for some reason I'd like to meet Des (Martinson) for a beer, bewva, fletch, saoirse to name just a few.
But like I say, I'm lucky to have met thousands of CBF members already :)
-
Met quite a few but my ambition to meet (properly - we did bump into each other very briefly at the Sunday market last year) and get a beer out of Highlander was achieved in June. I'm sure he left me the bill to pay though ;-)
-
Mine is actually you Gordon and Loz you sound like a smashing couple and Gordon you just give me so many laughs, also would love to meet Highlander...
I have been privileged to meet Keith and Julie (not together) ;) Julesbob and she is lovely and we have an "internet" friendship now, also would like to meet Jacqui Harvey as she sounds lovely too and has given me lots of advice and stuff on here over the years, and also great tips for when shoes and handbag sales have started or there is a discount on somewhere.... ;D
-
Problem with threads like this is if nobody wants to meet you :(
-
We have now met a lot of members and enjoyed speaking to them all. Including Keith, Highlander, and the lovely Brenda, Anne and lots of the members from the 3C's George, Chrissie, Peter. We met Lottie and Toky this last time. Always meet up with Jim Fraser and he and Helen come over for a drink. Enjoyed meeting them all. Hope to meet Karen one day and catch up with how Minnie is getting on. I am happy to meet any member. I always look out for Des but we have never seen him, he must keep a low profile.
I think if people have an avatar of themselves it's quite easy to recognise them.
-
Or a badge ;)
-
Yes, I have my badge, but I hope the other members have theirs in a prominent position so I can spot it...now wait for the jokes. ;D ;)
-
You couldn't miss Gordon could you ?!!
-
As we holiday in Ovacik & Hisaronu I have not (knowingly) met more than a couple of members. but we have a regular good banter in the 'chat' with Highlander, Scunner, Suzzpuss and GordonA, among others, it would be good to catch up away from cyber space. I didn't spot any badges on my recent trip but then I left mine on the kitchen windowsill. Doh.
-
Might pop both our badges in my ears! ;)
-
I sort of thought I met Scunner once. He was getting off the water taxi in Fethiye as we were waiting to get on. One of those moments that goes by and you turn back and think it must have been him. He wasnt as tall as I imagined. Still would lke to meet him for a drink or two though. The other one would be Brummyboy from way back.

love to meet you too Keith, if only to discuss my idol Maggie, that should keep us occupied for a few hours eh, regards to you Steph and the girls..

In our case it was him (I think ;)) who we unexpectedly found ourselves sitting opposite on a random trip to Fethiye.
As you can see we are both exceptional tall for our respective heights.

He wasnt as tall as I imagined.
Yes that does sound like me :D
-
An impossibly difficult question to answer because I would not necessarily want to name one person and not mention many others.
And if I try and list all of the members I would like to meet I may miss someone and that would be very embarrassing :o
Having said that, and if pressed, I would say pookie who, along with many others, showed Brenda and I tremendous kindness at a sad time in our lives.
-
I would like to meet up with Scunner, Highlander, Lotty, and Jacqui ( the last to apologise for being a total grump, nothing to do with her me just being a total pain in the arse!!)
-
I genuinely wouldn't mind meeting any of you guys. It's always good to put a face to the comments and I can talk for England (and Turkey). I'd happily buy any of you an Efes/cay/latte. :D
And meeting my fellow property searchers Slikmrs and Angela and Kevin would make for a good chat about our frustrations and excitement.
Bluwise and I have seem to have quite a bit in common and she looks lovely on her photo. I imagine her to have a really dirty laugh for some reason - same with Suzzpuss :D
I think Lotty comes over as a really nice person and someone you could have a really good chat with.
Artymar and I have similar artistic tastes.
I think Gordon and Loz would be a veritable mine of information and fund of stories and make great company. I'm a bit in awe of these two.
Jacqui is someone I'm a bit scared of. I think she probably has the biggest, kindest heart in the world but I would need to curtsey if I met her.
Highlander has the nicest smile ever on his pic and I imagine is a very thoughtful and jolly person.
The 2 people that intrigue me the most are Scorcher and Lance, for entirely different reasons ......
Scunner is someone I'm never likely to meet as he is no doubt carried around Calis in his tahtirevan (sedan chair) and is only visible as a regal waving hand through the curtained window. However, should the occasion arise, I would willingly prostrate myself over the potholes on BMB so he could alight safely and not be sullied by the dust on his feet.
-
Well, that made me hoot with laughter - curtseying to Jacqui and laying prostrate over the potholes for Scunner! ;D
Thanks for the compliments and I don't know about a dirty laugh but I do love a mucky joke or two.
We will never know if we pass you on Calis prom unless you put a pic on for us Menthol - having said that, I could watch for someone curtseying in George's or taking a full size table tennis table on the dolmus - that should give it away!
-
xEfes/cay/latte - nice thought. Ear plugs going to be on offer ? I'm intrigued ...x
-
Cheers Bluwise!
Okay, now I have to try and find a photo of me that I dare put on here that isn't going to make everyone wince every time they scroll down the page.
And the thought of Scorcher sipping his cay watching my never ending gob flap in silence is beyond funny .... ;D
-
Menthol I am not at all scary and you don't need to curtesy (well I don't allow that unless you are wearing a hat). :) :D
I am a pussy cat really, Lots of people recognise me from my picture, so if you see me around come and say hello, I promise i will not bite. :-* ;D
-

Thank you Menthol - you really are too kind.

Aw thank you Menthol! I can assure you our Queen Jacqui is very approachable! I did it! Lovely lady and probably the most knowledgable female on CBF. I agree with all of the rest of your post! I have these mental ideas of everyone but they are an intriguing mystery! Its certainly a great melting pot of personalities. Yes I have to admit I would love to meet his majesty one day!
-
Do you think you'll be able to recognise me from the photo on my profile? Although it is about 4 years old ...
-
Who would you most like to meet, & perhaps have a drink with ?
None. Apart from maybe Garry Carr. Just for the sheer entertainment value.

Hmmm, could be a tough one that but will keep a look out.
-
Menthol, after your brilliantly hilarious description of your possible future encounter with Scunner ;D you are someone I would like to meet and share a drink with :D I like people with a witty sense of humour and enjoy hearing and reading on here, or anywhere funny / witty postings ( like Scunners ) it seems you also have that talent... ;D

YAY! Someone wants to meet ME! Not that I've been waiting or anything .... :'(
Thanks Sleuth, though I reckon it was my schmexy avatar that swayed it. Yes?
-
I would always be willing to have a sit down with anyone on here and talk about the beautiful surroundings on Calis.
I would prefer a hot blonde female of course (red blooded 21 year old talking :D)
However, aslong as the conversation and beers flowing I'll be happy :D
-
This topic reminds me of Number 2, Alan; over a good many years every time I met him, for him it was the first time, I used to laugh about it on here, Then one day there was a post on the forum off him saying he was looking forward to meeting me "for the first time" since being sober and hopefully remember it this time, which he did, god bless him xxx
-
For me Highlander ....so polite with a generous nature .
-
Loz ;D ;D ;D
-
Really though, I'd love to meet quite a few people on here in addition to Loz (+ Gordy!!). As Bewva says, the fun people from chat such as B himself, Highlander and Scunner are high on the list. Menthol is someone who makes me laugh regularly too. Love to meet her. So many others.
I've met the lovely Lotty and the wonderfully generous Pompeylil. My fabulous neighbours call themselves Burnham on here and have been so kind. It's such a great source of information but it's also a lovely way to 'meet' people. I felt that Calis and Fethiye were like my second home long before we'd bought our villa or even met any forum members. Thank you CBF. ;D
-
Hey just met up with Sandgrounder for a catch up over a few beers.haven't seen him for about four years when he was living in Calis.he was in my hometown for a few days and got in touch via CBF.Great catch up,great to see him so well and happy.Hope its not so long between catch ups next time
-
I Fink Lance is Great.
-
I Fink You Are Biased, Wot Do You Fink. ;D ;D
-
Had the pleasure of meeting up with Quackers, the fount of all knowledge related to Calis and Koca Calis. Great fun - a force for good! Looking forward to next year! Missed Menthol, who was too busy choosing villas but again, maybe next year - plus looking forward to seeing loads of others - too many to mention!
