I know you will be find lots of men wear smart shorts in the evenings in Calis Beach, but I cannot recall shorts at the Kings Garden as it's quite a special night out a lot of people dress up, but then we are always there on a Saturday night.  There are no dress rule anywhere in the area so no problems.
However, I cannot get my husband to wear shorts around the shops  never mind a restaurant at night...

I'd agree it is extensively trousers but you can wear shorts if you prefer, it would be no problem and I would without concern. No Speedos though.

Personally , I love a man in a nice shirt whether with long or short trousers, (shorts) something nice and fresh about it. Long (rolled up) or short sleeved but must be cotton or linen though. . . .

A lot of women dress up for the Kings Garden i.e. long dresses.  I do (any excuse)  so a nice pair of long trousers on your partner IMHO looks good.

Nice tailored shorts would look better than some trousers. On holiday, wear what you like, if they turn you away you wouldn't have wanted to be there anyway :D

Sorry Scunner, it's not the shorts it's the legs that need to be good to carry off a pair of tailored shorts.  Better to hid all skinny/hairy/fat/veins/sunburn/  under a nice cool pair of lightweight trousers.

I've seen women with legs the same as described above, wearing skirts, maybe we should tell them to cover up to?
