Silly question maybe...
I know the two companies are owned by the same people (I didn't know that till quite recently) - but do you travel on the same bus irrespective of who you booked with, or do A2B have their bus and Resorthoppa another..?
I'm sure at Dalaman (and at Faro) they were completely separate kiosks and buses, which is surely daft.
-
The bus we used last, had dual logo's on the side, we thought maybe they had formed some sort of co-operative to avoid running with empty seats.
-
here is one for me :) Hoppa was bought over last year by A2B Transfers making their pax numbers double and I had a nervous breakdown in July 2012 :) They still though sell as different companies with different websites but are under the same umbrella. Maybe in some countries they use two different agents as maybe Hoppa had loyal agents which they used for years and vice versa but Izmir Bodrum and Dalaman is contracted to us.
Bet you regret asking now :P

This summer I booked with A2B and my cousin booked with Resort Hoppa we both went to the same desk at Dalaman and were on the same bus to Calis.. Also this summer I booked hubby and I both through A2B but we were on different flights both landing with 15 mins of each other, both going to the same drop off point and we were down for separate buses, I did point out this seemed rther stupid and a possible waste of fuel so we were told in the end to both get on the same bus ;)

A good explanation Diz
I don't mind which one of the two I book, I go for the cheapest :D
Which makes you wonder, if everything is the same, why is one cheaper :)
-
And here in Didim, previous bookings made with them, use other
local companies arranged by Sarpendon Travel in Fethiye
-
Hmm not sure why one is sometimes is cheaper than the other :) Good question!!! Maybe to keep both names popular in the industry! But whichever you book you are stuck with me unfortunately :) :) :o
-
We'll manage :)
It's often significantly less but interestingly (vaguely) I have found it can be either that is cheaper, never always the same one.
-
I went to make a booking with Resort Hopper for the first time, at the payment stage they wanted £3 for a card handling fee, so I went back to the A2B website they only charge £1 booking fee ;)
-
Isn't Resorta Hoppa the more expensive because you can actually pay the driver cash each way for the journey,A2/B you pay up front,up front ,up front with a credit card!
-
Resorthoppa was the one I booked this time as it was the cheaper of the two. Not including the £1002 extra spent on my card that is!!!
-
Seem to remember there was a post from someone at resort hopper/a2b. Asking for details of problems to be notified to her but can't find the post now, anyone remember that posting?
-
diane@sarpendontour.com is her contact.or socialmedia@resorthoppa.com
-
I've been speaking to Diane from a2b today as I need a transfer soon and not prepared to risk my card again!
She suggested I book direct with Sarpedon, will be a little dearer at £8.50 but that's ok with me.
I asked if they're any closer to resolving things and got the feeling not too many people have bothered to report their problems as advised.
Please please if you haven't do it, otherwise they won't understand the scale of the problem.
-
Reported three days ago,so far no reply! Luckily our bank Nationwide were on the ball and stopped the transactions, supposed top ups to Orange phone,
-
You would expect A2B/Resorthoppa to know the scale of the problem by now,
from social media and forums, even if some people have not contacted them direct.
Also with what must be, a big decline in bookings.
-
They have a pretty good idea yes, but for the purposes of a proper investigation by the appropriate team with hard facts in front of them they need dates and booking numbers rather than a guess at how many people are affected.
-
To be honest I get the impression that A2B are in absolute denial about it being anything to do with them, despite huge data in the public domain with them as the absolute and exclusive link.
Again, it wouldn't stop me booking with them in future, I didn't lose the money spent on my card.
