Sat in a meeting after lunch with a most irritating
boss stringy piece of celery stuck in-between my back teeth. Couldn't excuse myself and go to the loo as should have gone after lunch (yes, we are treated like children at times). Tried sucking silently, discreetly using the corner of my finger-nail etc to no avail. Finally, when I had given myself tongue-ache trying to prise it out, I got some purchase with my little finger.....yes, yes aaaaaah!
What things do others find give them such relief? Here's a few for starters:
Getting a splinter out
First coffee of the day
Taking my shoes off
Putting my PJ's on
Getting a super long piece of paper off when stripping the walls instead of all those piddly little bits
Peeling sunburnt skin off - as above, especially the big bits
After falling over as a kid, waiting patiently to pick the crusty scab off without it bleeding/hurting (sorry but I just loved it - had to be crusty/crunchy type though)
The first swim of the year in Calis
-
Getting a broken tooth sorted
Putting down a really hot cup/pan :)
-
Truss ?
-
Isn't the hot cup/pan more of an ah-ah-ah-ah-ah ?
Can't comment on the Truss only if putting one on is anything like taking a Bra off then yes, aaaahhhh :)
-
That wee you have just been putting off and off :)
-
Not just Wees :-[

Getting a bargain on line and just as you click seeing it's the last one...ah ah ha ha ha!!
-
That is soooo you Mrs H ;D

I know, was sweating today online at the Monsoon sale. There was a lovely outfit for a little girl and only two left. Their website was playing up, as it always does when the sales start. However, managed to get it..so that was an Ah!!!
-
Eventually, after a few slightly painful attempts, being able to get completely into a steaming (probably too) hot bath.
-
having a shower and snooze after 8hrs of work

Getting back home to our lovely comfy bed after 2 days at my Mum's which is like a rock... Coming home at any time infact...
Finishing a big pile of ironing that has been sitting staring at me for 3 days.
That feeling when you have had visitors staying for a few days or even weeks.. As much as you love them, to get your home back to yourselves...
Finding 20 quid in the bottom of your bag that you didn't realise was there..
Finding that you have lost 10 kilo's after not eating Turkish food and drinking too much for 6 years..
Realising that you have internet that doesn't buffer.
You can change channels with the remote.
You don't have 10 power cuts a week
AND your water doesn't get cut off on a regular basis.

First ICY cold beer on the Calis prom after arrival.
Sinking into a comfortable chair, kicking off shoes, nice cuppa after shopping all day.
Completing any chore / essay/ report you've been putting off till the last minute.
Hearing kids/ hubbies car arrive when they are worryingly late.
Spotting your luggage at last come out when nearly everyone has smugly gone - phew!
;) :D ;D

for Ladies only, taking your bra off !!! ;D ;D
-
Doing the washing up and NOT finding a lone tea spoon left in the sink. ;)
-
Catching your willy in your zip ? (or is that arrrrghhhhh !!!!!)
-
for Ladies only, taking your bra off !!! ;D ;D
Just had an aaaahhhh moment!

I thought that was more of a ---boing!--- moment.
-
Or even a boing---boing-- moment ;D
-
Take away 20 years & two kids and it might have been 'boing'.
Now it's more 'flubbbbb'...... ;D
-
Or even Flub dubb dubb dubb ;)

The first step I take coming out of Dalaman "disco" Airport
-
Sitting in the car/taxi taking me to Manchester airport for my flight to Dalaman having checked, re-checked and checked again I've got passports, tickets (or boarding passes now!) and money. Then sit back and relax - Calis awaits :D
-
With Marina on that one.
Definitely recognise the 'off bra' relief. (Been known to turn down requests to leave the house later on in the evening by saying 'I can't now. I've taken my bra off'.)
And very recently I bought myself a very expensive down pillow (have a 'thing' about pillows never being comfortable) and so putting my head on it always results in an 'aaaah'.
-
Getting beyond the final security check at Gatwick and into the departure lounge ;D ;D ;D BLISS !!!!!!

;D Know just what you mean Menthol! Once it's off, it stays off!! ;)
-
But the biggest and most audible 'aaah' ever elicited from me was getting into the pool at the apartment in Calis after me and my Mum had spent the day house hunting in 40C heat.
I think we did an 'aaaaaaah' in stereo.

I'm with you ladies..... Also when I get home and realise it's a very rare night in with no teaching salsa/school meetings/working and I can put my PJs on as soon as I get home... :D
-
After two days without one, seeing the van delivering the new fridge/freezer, coming down the road.
-
Gosh, I bet, echogirl :o
On par with 'off-bra', is the first Calis water taxi ride of the holiday.
I never get tired of riding that route.
All close your eyes, feel the heat on your bum from the seat, the sun on your skin, hear the growl of the engine and the gentle swish of the water: 'Aaaahhh'
-
That moment when you've been on a marathon shopping expedition in the August heat and get home, kick off your shoes and step onto that lovely cold tiled floor - definitely an aaahhh moment for me.
-
This photograph as soon as I saw it.
An intensely intimate and personal moment captured as though it had happened privately without intrusion by the photographer.
As I said elsewhere, if I had been the subject of this photograph I would treasure it forever.

PS I hope nichola, who took the super photo, doesn't mind me using it.
-
Well come on then, who is it. ??? ???
-
That was an 'Awwww' for me...lovely pic. :)
-
Kicking off my high heels at the end of the day.
The smell of clothes/bedding/towels that have newly been brought in from the wash line.
Getting back into my own bed when I've been away on holiday.
That first day feeling of the sun on your body by the pool or on the beach.
The sound of silence while walking on local hills.
When my 4 grandkids visit, hug me and tell me they love me. (never fails to reduce me to a heap!)
Seeing some of the young people I work with make good choices for a change.
:) :)
-
oh I agree Toky, being told you are the best Nanny in the world (even if it's not true, if they think it, that's good enough for me) :)
-
Taking out my bottom denture at night....the damn thing still hurts after 6 months. :(
-
Mary get yourself to see Cagatay Aras the Dentist, you will be free of your denture forever, like many other people on this Forum.
