Title: Most embarrassing moments .........
Post by: Menthol on December 08, 2013, 17:33:44 PM

I came across this on Facebook - it's from some time ago - but it got me thinking about having to explain oneself after such an event and the embarrassing moments we may have all had at one time or another.

Do you have any you would consider sharing with us all? I don't mean quite like this  example (although they would be awesome to hear     :)) just general faux pas or proper dropped b*ll*cks.

And if this thread has been done before my time on CBF - my apologies.

Probably not my most embarrassing moment (or as embarrassing as the example) but here goes...(and I hope others will follow)

One Friday I was late getting home from work and what with it being lads night out I needed to rush if I was going to meet the gang. Straight in, ready to get washed & changed - apart from one thing, my new, favourite top was in the washing machine - damp! No problem, don't panic - luckily I had a tumble dryer which I remember thinking not only would mean that it would get dried but also it would come out crease free and no need to iron it. So I got on with getting showered and prepared.

Last thing, grab the amazing new top (lovely and crease free) from the dryer and out the front door while still pulling it on.

It was a remarkable top, cream coloured and I loved it. And not just me, as I rushed down to the pub girls were giving me serious attention. I felt a million dollars. I knew this was the shirt for me, and it appears I was right.

As I approached the pub I caught a glimpse of myself in the glass of the front door. And spotted a black sock stuck to the front of my new top with static.

Thank goodness it was only a sock!!

Having just passed my driving test as a teenager and now with my first ever car,  I remember getting myself all dolled up to go and drive down the coast road at Ainsdale and do some serious “posing” (70’s expression if ever I heard one!)
I owned a pair of the most trendy Polaroid sunglasses – you now the ones you were supposed to be able to see under water with  (no glare the ad.men said) and they were perfect to finish the look as I had quite long hair at the time and wanted to be Raquel Welch.
Driving down Formby by-pass I was getting glances from lots of people and began to feel very pleased with myself.  I decided to move my wing mirror so I could see myself rather than wasting it looking at cars behind me……
Well, pride certainly comes before a fall.  I was expecting to see this young thing with hair blowing in the breeze wearing the coolest of sunglasses and looking a million dollars.  Instead I saw this silly girl in a pampas green Vauxhall Viva with only one lens in her sunglasses……….

Many years ago (around 27!!) we went on holiday to Tunisia the hotels all had a bit of beach designated to them... The beach a bit further up was far quieter so we got all settled for sunbathing, when I was younger I had not a bad figure (bc) before children and I did used to sunbathe topless...Anyway suddenly I hear someone saying something like "no breasts no breasts here" I looked up to see one of the locals wading out of the sea sort of crossing his arms over and repeating over and  over no breasts we have no breasts here embarrassed was an understatement needless to say I kept my top on for the rest of the holiday!!!

I had a toddler aged 2 yrs old and had recently had my second son. Sleep was a distant memory and my baby had a voracious appetite for milk. I felt like a factory cow.

One morning the postman knocked on the door. I answered and he flinched and turned his head away in what I presumed was his revulsion at the sight of my sleep starved face and matted hair.

It was as I closed the door and felt the draft that I realised I had one very large breast out for all the world to see.

At the time I was so tired and beyond caring, I don't remember even blushing. It was several years later when I did, in recollection.

Ok....here goes

A few years ago I used to frequent a very well known national gym chain. On this one occasion I went for a long workout and afterwards felt like I deserved a reward for all the hard work and so headed for the pool for a dip and then onwards to the jacuzzi. Now the jacuzzi was lovely and warm and I enjoyed a long soak, completely ignoring the warning signs that state you shouldn't stay in for longer than 20 mins at a time. Anyway after 40 mins I figured I had better get going so got out.

....and then the air hit me and I started feeling really dizzy. I staggered back to the changing rooms and into the shower area. I recalled as i walked in that the disabled shower had been moved from one side to another and figured they much be doing some renovation. Anyways...the shower cubicles have a 3/4 door meaning the floor to about a foot had no screen and then the screen stopped at just over 5ft. I soaked for a while starting to feel a little less dizzy when I heard a woman's voice....I figured it must be the cleaner which sometimes did happen with a suitable warning beforehand....and then I heard another woman's voice.....and another.....and I think you can guess the rest........

I stayed in that shower for over an hour with my head ducked down (fortunately height is not one of my few gifts)..until I could not hear any more voices and then ran for the door back to the pool and the opposite door to the men's changing room. Not before spotting the security camera in the space between the two.....

I have never got dressed so quickly and never set foot in the place again

Being in a Calis shop (cannot remember which one) when Brenda's 80 year old mother put a handful of crumpled lira on the counter and told the shop keeper "you will have to take the right amount, I cannot work out your funny money"

A friend told me about this some years ago.

She was trying to sleep one night and kept hearing music. She realised that her newly moved-in elderly neighbours, who had just returned from a weekend away, had left the radio playing in their caravan now parked directly beneath the bedroom windows of both houses.

As she had to rise early for work the next day, my friend realised she had no choice but to go round to the house next door and let them know.

She was mindful that knocking on someone's door in the early hours of the morning could be quite alarming and she wished to get her point across as tactfully and politely as possible to these new neighbours.

She knocked assertively but not aggressively and sure enough, lights were switched on and two anxious dressing gowned figures opened the door.

'Sssh' said my friend, holding a finger to her lips, 'Listen'.

It was at that point that rather unfortunately my friend let rip a rather loud and long fart.

No further words were spoken. My friend turned on her slippered heel and returned to her home.

She put the house on the market the next day.
