Reading between the lines of a statement by the National Police Air Service published today it would seem that the Glasgow helicopter crash could have been caused by the aircraft simply running out of fuel.
“In light of the technical issue identified by Bond Air Services, as a precautionary measure, we are increasing fuel levels on all NPAS EC135 aircraft and increasing the minimum level of fuel which pilots are allowed to operate on.”

News reports since then have stated that there was more than enough fuel onboard.
Bit of backtracking now it seems.

It seems so incredibly unfortunate that with the vast numbers of tightly packed office and commercial buildings in Glasgow where the top floor (which may be quite a few floors up) would have been empty at that time, that it managed to find a single storey building packed to the rafters. So sad.

Could the lack of fuel explain the lack of fire.Aircraft crashes usually result in a fireball.
Unlucky for the crew but very fortunate for the surviving pub customers.
