Title: Winners of the CBF Restaurant of the Year, 2013 Season
Post by: Scunner on February 02, 2014, 16:36:54 PM
Many congratulations to the 2013 winners, and therefore retaining their best Calis Restaurant status to The Meeting Point

Two runners up (who will receive "Highly Commended" certificates whether they want them or not     ;) ) go to our highest ranking newcomer Vojo's, and to Casa Di Mamma

The final votes can be seen Here (http://www.calis-beach.co.uk/forum/calis_beach_questions_and_information/best_calis_beach_bar_or_restaurant_2013_you_vote_53286.0.html)

No great surprise that the CBF Best Fethiye restaurant goes to the magnificent Mozaik Bahce, again retaining the accolade for the second year in a row. Highly Commended certificates will go to two big favourites - King's Garden and Pasa Kebap

Fethiye final results can be seen Here (http://www.calis-beach.co.uk/forum/fethiye_turkey_discussion_forum/best_fethiye_bar_or_restaurant_2013_please_vote_53285.10.html)

It was fantastic to see (and be told) how important our poll and certificates were to the previous year's winners and not just the owners, all the staff were absolutely delighted. I will get the certificates sorted in good time for the start of the season.

I would ask members living over there, or visiting soon, to please make all six establishments aware of their success in CBFland. And thanks to all who voted.

Well if I was there for a week and those 6 were 6 of the places we'd have dinner at, I'd be more than happy  :)

Im ashamed to say out of the 6 we've been to 2!  Though we are creatures of habit we will need to remedy that!

Ahmet will be thrilled to bits, he's so proud of his 2012 certificate. Well deserved and congratulations to Nichola and Dogan too, everyone we recommend them to has a wonderful time and goes back for more .

All my fave places to eat, so I am really pleased.  Consistency, good food and service is always a winner!!!!  A CBF award for a Calis/Fethiye restaurant is equivalent to a Michelin star.  Do Turkey ever, award, good food establshments?

I was actually taken aback (not quite speechless) at the reaction to the certificates last year. The owners and staff at both winning establishments were absolutely delighted and proud to have won, and to know what we all think of where they work. Before deciding to award the certificates I pondered whether it was worth doing at all, that maybe they would be accepted and chucked in the bin   ;)

But when you stay at the Oykun, it's hard to miss the much enlarged versions of the certificate hanging outside the Meeting Point. And should you actually manage to, Ahmet takes great pleasure in pointing them out to EVERYONE who passes :D

i feel like i am at the Oscar ceremony and just won one  :) should really prepare a speech really. Thank you very much to everyone who voted for us and my hard working staff without whom we would be lost. and a big thank you goes to CBF

This means so much to us to be awarded the best newcomer restaurant in Calis as most of you might know how hard it is to compete to other businesses that has been well established over the years.

We will deliver even better service and food to go even higher next year. Thanks again  :D

Congratulations to all the winners but perhaps especially to Vojo's, who did not have their troubles to seek during the season but never let it affect their drive and determination to provide a service.

We saw, first hand, (twice) last September how hard Volkan and his staff were working. We enjoyed excellent service and food on both occasions.

I have to confess that on our next visit I will be giving their line dancing and the karaoke a miss due to a recurring medical condition, but I do want to wish Volkan and Jo every success in 2014.

Incidently, isn't it great that the first thing the winners do is thank their staff.

PS I am, of course available to present this years' Certificates. It would be an absolute pleasure (again)

I just realised, we ate at 5 of those 6 in October, and the reason we didn't eat at all 6 was because we met at the Meeting Point (with Anne & Billy and Baz & Kaz) to have a swift half and head off to Pasa Kebap. But as things turned out, we ate at the Meeting Point and never got to Pasa :D

Sometime ago I produced a Restaurant Guide. A few people have used it and I have as yet not had adverse comments (perhaps they are just being polite).

The Guide is "absolutely free" except for a donation to the 3C's Charity

If you would like a copy pm me on here with an email address and I will send you a copy.

We are delighted and honoured to once again to be voted the No1 restaurant in Fethiye. This is no mean feat with all the increasingly excellent range of restaurants in Fethiye to choose from.

We really appreciate all the support that CBF members have given us over the years; big thanks to Keith for organising this poll and to all of you for taking part (whoever you voted for) and congratulations to the King's Garden and Paşa (both favourites of ours) for their Highly Commended awards.

Of course it is our staff team that we owe our greatest thanks too. Our chefs (from Hatay) work tirelessly to bring you the very best of the Hatay kitchen and our waiter staff team are second to none - always happy and smiling all year around, nothing is too much trouble for them. We are of open for the first time this winter - run entirely by our permanent staff team who have gained valuable experience and learned new skills in restaurant management and delivery. We are incredibly proud of them.

We take nothing for granted and we will all continue to work as hard as ever to ensure that you receive the very best we offer in terms of our menu and the ambiance of the restaurant.

Thank you too, from us, we have met many new people in the five years we have been open and many we are pleased to say have become very good friends. You have all added something to our lives and we hope that we have added something to yours.

Nichola and Doğan

Look forward to visiting Mozaic Bahce, particularly - and bringing my friends when I'm over in May/June. Have to say that the karaoke and line dancing have been a put-off for me in trying Vojos, but maybe I'll try and find a quiet time to give them a go this year!
