:) do they have any ideas when it's due to complete :)
-
Sonra.
There have been a few rumours of April or May, but who knows - there is still no definite word of which shops will be there yet.
-
Ok thank you
-
Looks like something out of the 60's
-
I don't care as long as there are some well know shops in there.
-
It's going to be an absolute joy driving past there with the otogar so close, there will be more than the usual fun and games that we already have on Turkish roads methinks.

Going by this poster displayed at the site they obviously do not expect many cars - if only
-
That's the worse stretch of road, they come from all angles, no ones indicating, some driving on wrong side, overtaking, people walking in the road and dolmuses dodging in between!
-
I don't care as long as there are some well know shops in there.
Such as?
-
Poundland and Ladbrokes?
-
Cash converters, Salvation Army Charity Shop and a Bargain Booze, they seem to be everywhere.
-
C & A ;D
-
Probably all the same large stores that you get in all British towns just for those Brits who come here for a few weeks each year but get withdrawal symptoms Eric : :)
-
C.&.A's would be really good, don't have them in the U.K. anymore, but still in Turkey. Also Sephora, love that shop, again, not in the U.K. Also an IKEA.
I would like to see some of the British Shops like M.&.S. and B.H.S. but not because I need a fix in the weeks I stay, but they are very good for home furnishings and also, I am sure some of the lady ex-pats would love to see these familiar brands, as I keep hearing that they hate the clothes in the shops in Fethiye... I agree, I think clothing is very poor. I don't buy clothes when I am over. I have also read there is a problem for larger ladies ex pats who find it extremely difficult to buy clothes locally.
-
Oh I expect Mark Spenders and McDowell's will be moving in there.
-
Alongside Azda and Tespo
-
Who's Mcdowells?? Not interested in having UK shops because I need a fix, but would be nice for some of the ex pats to have a few familiar names, M&S food would be nice, save me bringing cheese over for friends!!
-
Who's Mcdowells??
A burger bar in Hiroshima.
-
I think you will be very lucky if there is a LC Waikiki.
-
Well, if it becomes ANYTHING to resemble most British High Streets, it will soon be full of charity shops !!
-
And coffee shops
-
Oh no !Ikea and C/A no!I wouldn't have any tacky furnishings or wear any of there clothing at home .I would like lots of small individual shops.I
-
If it's anything like the Shopping Centres in the U.K. the small shop keepers will not be able to afford the rent.
I would not call Ikea tacky. I don't have any Ikea furniture, but I have seen some in other peoples homes and it looks good. I also know that lots of people in the Fethiye area have Ikea furniture delivered from Izmir, so there is a call for it.
As for C.&.A's. I am no clothes snob, so if I saw something I liked I would buy it. C.&.A.'s in Istanbul is very popular. I bought some really good trousers in the C.&.A in Amsterdam and they where good quality and strangely enough "Made in Turkey"
I think I would rather have C.&.A. clothes than some of the bri nylon sequinned clothes in the local small shops in Fethiye.
-
We are all full aware of the rents that shopkeepers have to pay.We also know that many shops stock bry nylon but there are lots of shops sell beautiful cotton items. We don't all want cheap and nasty.Local people need to benifit from this shopping center not just holidaymakers.
-
Sounds a bit harsh, just a bit of banter, we all have an opinion. :)
-
Who's Mcdowells??

I have a friend who lives in Fethiye, she is married to a Turkish man. She hates the local shops, can never find anything in cotton to wear and waits until she gets back home to the U.K. to stock up on clothes. I have to agree. I find the local shops expensive and there is nothing I would or could wear The women's clothes are made of man made materials and are very very fuss.and I never bother about the name of the shop or the price of the item. I buy what I like. So, please let me know where to buy these wonderful cotton clothes. I will tell my friend too.
-
Calm Down!! It's only a half built shopping centre! 8)
-
I love C&A. Its my first stop wherever I go shopping in Europe. And it means you get something different as they no longer operate in the UK. I usually buy my grandkids skiwear from here too.

The new Marka mall in Antalya has a lovely big C& A there, was very exciting!
-
I used to love C&A too, their Yessica range had some lovely things. I wish I still had some of those clothes now! There was a lot I didn't like as in any shop, but somehow I always managed to find something special. We bought great skiing stuff there at reasonable prices. I also like getting lost in IKEA, I can never find my way out! Lol ;)
-
Thank goodness i did not take a photo of something sensitive.
-
:) :D
-
Come on Jim, we know you were only goading the "We must have an M&S in Fethiye" brigade. ;)
-
Unfortunately, the M&S in Izmir & Antalya sell neither food nor home furnishings, but it is good to be able to buy clothing that you know will fit, especially for a short a**e like me! With Turkish sizing, I am anything from medium to XXXL.
-
I love Turkish shops. I think it's wonderful when you go into a shoe shop and ask if they have a particular style in a size 12 in brown and they offer a size 8 in black as an ideal alternative.
-
That is just so true, my friend wanted a pair of sandals in white in a size 4, she was offered a size 6 in red, with the suggestion she put tissues in the toes!!
-
Stores like Next, Wallis, M.&.S. and C.&.A. offer tall and short sizes which is really good for me who is 5'3" and my daughter who is 6ft. So, I am sure the ex-pat ladies in the Fethiye area would love the choice of sizing.
-
We have visited the M&S stores in Izmir & Antalya, both of which are great if, as my wife puts it and in her opinion, you are looking for frumpy or 1990's clothes! 8)
-
Obviously, you have to selectively shop. I buy M.&.S. petite trousers, they are perfect for me. I hope I am not frumpy or stuck in the 1990's. It's all about selective buying and picking and choosing. I saw a lovely pair of cut off trousers in M.&.S. in Rhodes, but there was nothing else I would have bought. I think it's a shame to discount any shop as there is always something you can buy. I have shopped at designer shops and budget shops and I always find something I like. It's all about being a savvy shopper.
However, before judging anyone's fashion sense or how fashionable they are, I like to see images or better still the person in the flesh, then, I may respect their opinions.
-
Any Ann Summer's customers putting their hands up ? ;D
-
Which is better? There's only one way to find out ! FIGHT!!!!!!!
-
Come on Jim, we know you were only goading the "We must have an M&S in Fethiye" brigade. ;)
OK i admit it.
-

Up where? ;)

Who mentioned judging other people or their fashion sense?
As I said, it was my wife's personal opinion on what was for sale in store.
She is also 'petite' but has no desire to buy just because it is there.
-
Here is what it should like when finished.Just need to picture the traffic jams as well,\. :o :o

Well I'm with Jacqui on this one. I'd love an M&S in Fethiye. For the clothes. The furniture would also be great, but I'm not hopeful.
However, it does concern me that as with all malls, the smaller businesses suffer.
-
I am also hoping for a Sephora as I know there is one in Izmir so, perhaps, a big shopping centre would attract this chain. In the meantime I am sure an M.&.S. would please a lot of lady ex-pats in the area.
-
The shop next to the Card Shop in Fethiye is under new ownership. She has had some very nice knitwear over the winter, all sourced from Istanbul and at very reasonable prices. I have seen the same items in the "Designer Street" a 100 lira more.
In the summer she will sell mainly dresses and tops - some of them will be made by the owners.
-
Lets hope its a mixed bag.
Koctas,(B&Q), middle of the range clothing stores, designer shops(bound to be), Ikea would be wonderful, M & S,(expensive in Turkey, but cheaper than flying home, lol) C & A, yes please.
So many shops now deliver to Turkey, Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Next and many more, which is great if you are standard size, and don't need to try on, but there's nothing like a girly day shopping!!!!
-
Bernie! The Fat Lass shop delivers to Turkey! Yay! (We should buy the same items and walk round together seeing as someone thought we were sisters ...... ;D )
-
There is an Erasta Shopping Mall next to Bauhaus in Antalya and we spent a pleasant few hours wandering around it last week. 8)
-
Firo, can you tell us what shops? any well know ones?
-
They're listed here
http://www.avmgezgini.com/erasta-park-avm-magazalari-182.html
-
A tad optimistic I reckon, 89 food outlets!!!!
-
A tad optimistic I reckon, 89 food outlets!!!!
It's not for the Fethiye site Saoirse, it's for the Antalya site as mentioned above.
-
Got ya
-
I hope we get a few different ones from the Antalya centre.
-
WE? You live in Scotland !
-
Yes, but I have a home in Calis too...
-
Sure you don't share with the Queen in Sandringham too? ;)
-
As I pay into the local Fethiye economy and will soon, hopefully, be spending more time in Calis. I think I can look forward to some good shopping... Again, I will be helping the local economy.
Not Sandringham that is in England. I think you may mean Balmoral. :o ;)
-
I hope there will be a Mete Market
-
And a Receps ion desk..
-
I pay into the local Perth economy but it's all relative ;)
-
Well there was a LC Wakiki but definitely no C&A or M&S, a couple of sports shops, bargain priced shoe outlets, Technosa, Collins male and female clothing, opticians and some food outlets plus lots more. As I said earlier we enjoyed the variety 8)
-
Not Sandringham that is in England. I think you may mean Balmoral. :o ;)
Don't worry You Majesty, I know which one of your Royal Households I meant. ;)
-
Just call me Ma'am please ;D :)
-
Aye Ok as if lol
-
There's a piece in today's Fethiye Times that local traders have complained that this mall is being built on public land & that the necessary permission has not been given. Could be awkward & costly if the court finds in their favour :-[
-
Yay, twins menthol..
-
Can't see how it is public land when there was a fruit and veg market there previously.
-
It's looking good :
-
Have you heard when it's going to be open George? Hope it's soon looking forward to a new place to shop. ;) ;D : :)
-
We haven't Jacqui, we went to the PTT to pick up letters and had wander down, it looks great, all of the gardens are planted so we expect it soon
-
Thanks for that George, keep us informed please.
-
Latest date for opening is now the 24th.
-
Of what month and year ?
-
Thats still to be decided.
-
Apparently the opening has been delayed for 2 weeks - no idea if this info is correct, it is just what I was told.
-
That reminds me. How's the Babadag Cablecar coming along ? Still on schedule ? ;)
-
Their Facebook page still gives 24th May as the day of opening.....we shall see.
-
We went to new Shopping centre yesterday ( the Opening day ) and yes you guessed it , its not open yet .
We talked to the security guard on site and he said the opening day has now been put back to 10th June ( this year ) Hopefully ha ha .
