what would be you ideal day in Turkey?
-
Twenty third of June
-
30th of February
-
A Friday
-
you cross them scott and lisa we'll head them in :)
-
15th February - the next day is always a bonus.
-
The day we touch down at Dalaman and know we are nearly in Calis
-
I'm hoping mine hasn't happened yet.
-
The first full day. Up early to see what view we have (because it always seems to be dark when we get into town), feel a bit of sun, down for breakfast (I love a Turkish hotel breakfast first morning, then slightly less each subsequent morning so day 1 is obviously the best day for it) - then a walk to the prom - after more than 10 years, 5 of which were full time, I still find Fethiye bay awesome - then lunch at a place we decide at the time, afternoon watching the kids enjoy the hotel pool, then out to Receps in the fish market for dinner with our magnificent friends Cenk & Olga.
-
In the old days - being first down for breakfast at Letoon, having the wonderful Nevra bring me the first coffee of the day and looking out at the unbelievable view, spending the day doing very little, spending the evening with Brenda, arriving back at Letoon at around midnight to find all the regulars there and sitting chatting (and drinking) until late into the night.
PS throw in a visit to Olu Deniz to see the jeweller and it's getting near the perfect day

Yep. Always a good day to buy flowers.
-
I would settle for any day there, gorgeous town and miles better than "deadwood" up the mountain.
Really enjoyed when we had our place in Fethiye. Alas big girl decided we prefer Autopsyville so only make regular visits to Fethiye now.
I think its continually improving, has a great Continental feel to it and has all you need without being too sprawling or grimy. Beautiful place.

:)3 April, first of 19 glorious days
-
The first morning after arriving at our apartment ...breakfast on the balcony and planning the day ahead
-
one of mine would be (we usually do this on about day 3) up early (ish) for breakfast, a nice walk to the end of the lagoon to Sun City for the day, looking back towards olu deniz and watching the paragliders is still spectacular, walk back about 4, get ready for the evening, jump on the dolmus to Fethiye, then a nice cup of elma chi whilst im being released of some of lira in the gold shop, in to the fish market for dinner, walk to boazici for nargile, dolmus back to olu, then chatting with old friend round the bar till 3am.....Perfect
-
Everyday above ground is a good day 8)
-
Yes I agree with Hamlet
-
Any day in Turkey is our favourite day ; ;D ;D
-
Taking a stroll down the front and meeting all the people I've got to know over the years and catching up with all their news then arranging to meet up for a meal or drinks. Roll on 2 June.
-
Sitting outside the Winehouse in Uzumlu with an Effes and watching the world not go by.
-
Our first day, having breakfast in the warm SUNSHINE, chatting to old friends staying at the same hotel, relaxing round the pool, walk along the prom to see who is where and what changes have been made and lunch, then Bella Mama for our first night meal with a bottle of Moskado. Roll on June.
-
I never tire of the scenery looking out to sea, and the sail from Fethiye bay across to Gocek islands is one of the finest in the med.
-
I always felt we were properly on holiday once we are on jerry boat. As soon as we are off,I feel my cares slipping away. Did a boat trip from olu last sept, was nothing like.
-
Going to have to do a Jerry Boat trip. He and his wife seem highly recommended.
-
We have had marvellous days out with Jerry over the years but not recently.

Sure we have done this quote wrong, but Highlander, know the feeling, got the tee shirt, but still love Jerry's boat.

No you got it right, Kevin got it wrong... :)

Arriving early hours of the morning. Getting up and getting the hire car delivered. Having breakfast by the pool and saying hello to the neighbours. Going shopping, coming back and falling asleep by the pool. Then getting ready and going down to George's for Chicken Topkapi..
-
Any day would be my favourite day in Turkey as long as I was there. ;D
-
Feet out of bed onto a cool, tiled floor.
The heat when you walk out of the air-con bedroom.
The sound of the patio doors sliding back to be greeted by more heat and the smell of Turkey
Ex-pat pigeons on the roof cooing "u-ni-ted" when I'm a Wednesdayite :o
The first cup of coffee on the patio sat in PJ's and knowing there are another 14 of these to come..…………..
-
Oooh, very evocative, Bluwise. :)
-
Ha, I was sitting in the sun for a while typing that -
Every time I hear the pigeons here it reminds me of Calls ………..and Hillsborough!
-
A day at the beach, before heading to the fish market for dinner. Perfect.
-
any day apart from the last one for me!! and as a by the way, yesterday in the uk was glorious, almost spring like and the bird song in my garden instantly transported me to Turkey, one of my very favourite things ever has been on the beach late afternoon, watching baby sparrows begging for food from their mothers. Utterly delightful. :)

30th of July 2014. When we will be married at the Bakrac beach resort.
-
Many of these sound great, but probably hard to top the last one!
Congratulations spo6666
-
Thank you.
Can't wait, it should be good, as we are there for nearly 4 weeks 8) and a few of our Turkish friends will also be there :)
-
we got married in Italy on lake Garda (in a castle!) it was like a dream

I would like to wake up, after arriving late at night, to pull back the curtains, see the pool boy around the pool, see our neighbours walking the dogs to the canal for their first walk, have a cup of tea, overlooking the pool, then a wander to the prom to see whats happened since last year, lunch by the beach, then back for a swim in the pool, a gossip with the neighbours, then back out for a drink and an evening meal at one of our favourite restaurants, followed by a drink or two , on the way home, a nightcap on the verandah and falling into bed knowing we can do it all again tomorrow. Bliss
-
Sitting on my veranda and looking out at the finished canal with my phone line fixed and the piles of dirt removed. Watching the wildlife that use to be there and have now come back. Dolmus back running on his old route outside my house on newly bricked surface. Lampposts that light up the new pavements and footbridges across the canal. Wonder if this day will come.
