Some time ago, forum members were asking about hamams in the local area.
At the recent Calis Christmas Fair, the 3C's were kindly donated several Turkish bath and massage sessions by the new management of the Mervil Spa Centre at the Nevada Su hotel in Calis for raffle prizes in our charity Christmas raffle. Peter and I were lucky enough to win one of these vouchers (and no it was't a fix ;)). Well we finally got around to using it this week as it expired at the end of February. To be honest we had been to the hamam at the Nevada Su a couple of years ago when it first opened and we were in and out really quickly and it really wasn't anything special then, but this was a whole new experience. We are always slightly apprehensive about recommending places as everyone's perception is different, but we can honestly say that it was the best hamam and massage experience that we have had since coming to this area of Turkey. Up until now we had always thought that the Atapark Hotel hamam in Karagozler rated as the best locally but the Mervil was even better and we came out squeaky clean and floating on cloud nine. The two ladies who run the spa were lovely and we will certainly return to de-stress at some point in the near future.

Glad you enjoyed it Chrissie.... Is it still the blonde lady (I think she may be German)... Best Turkish bath I have ever had was there last year, the lady did a brilliant job of getting rid of my "old tan" which had gone all patchy and my "new tan" defo lasted much longer on returning to the UK...

Friends of mine were lucky enough to also win one of these vouchers & went yesterday morning. Through no fault of the hamam, there was a power cut during the hamam part of the session, so this was by candlelight, the patron explained that, as the massage rooms were in total darkness & unheated, it would not be practical to continue. She invited my friends to go back at a convenient time & have the full package & not just the massage.
Friends are well impressed!

Glad to hear of the improvement as my partner in crime (that was) also went a couple of years ago and wasn't that impressed. Will defo go again. when I return from my UK trip, to get rid of the excess rain water and greyness lol

We also visited last summer, my wife had a massage after the Hamman from the guy that was running it at the time and thoroughly appreciated his techniques! :( ???
He promised me a new woman if I took her back a second time but I like the old girl as she is ;)
The Lady that did the bath bit was also superb and had the singing voice of an Angel!

As we always stay at Seastar when we visit Çalis, we always go to the hamam at the Nevada Su on the first day of our stay as it's only 100 yards away. Last year was the best ever. I do hope the German lady and her Turkish friend will still be there in June.

Ive tried the Malhun & The Old Turkish Bath in Fethiye but never tried the Nevada Su. Has anyone got a breakdown of the charges ?

They have a price list at the hotel Tonyb there are various packages on there such as a Turkish bath and a massage which works out a little cheaper then paying for them indivually...I think I paid around 40tl it is a little more expensive then some but I like the fact there is a little pool you can go in to cool off after being in the sauna....
