Title: Insurance on UK property

What do people do about their house insurance for properties back in the UK if they are in Calis for two months plus as we understand most insurance companies only cover up to a maximum of 60 days unoccupancy?

Hi,

After a lot of research I solved our problem by joining the Camping & Caravan Club in doing so and taking out their Household/Building Insurance, we receive 180 consecutive days cover with NO restrictions (ie leaving central heating on/weekly visits to check on property). Their quote matched my existing/standard Insurance quote with a £40.00 CC&C joining fee = £230.00 and not the £550 thru a broker.

Also, used their travel Insurance for 180 days @ £102.00 each with good cover and accepted for Residency Health cover.

Please appreciate we do not own a caravan nor go camping, we just take advantage of their services.
