If these tapes are "fakes"why has he sacked the five people in charge of his encrypted phones.?     ???

Absolutely right UBT, not the sharpest Erdogan in the pack by far. I wondered if it could be that he is absolutely petrified of his own father. After doing quite well in talking in code and avoiding the real subjects, to know you are being tapped and then to blurt out about 10 million euros blew the whole thing. Including his old man's temper I'm sure!!!

Does Today's Zaman now think it is untouchable; beyond Erdogan's wrath? It published the full transcript after stating the tape hadn't be verified. It continues today with:

Pro-government media outlets have been churning out stories to disprove the authenticity of phone recordings allegedly between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his son Bilal on the morning of Dec. 17, when a corruption investigation became public with dawn raids, in which they discussed how to get rid of large sums of money stashed in the homes of Erdoğan's relatives; however, independent institutions and specialists on the matter claim that there is no way the tape recordings could have been doctored.

Certainly makes UK politics look rather dull and puts a little perspective to our teeny little "scandal" of MPs fiddling a few thou. on their expenses.

And lo and behold...  another tape surfaces.  This time its Snr telling Jnr not to accept bribe money from Sitki Ayan (Head of SOM Petrolium) because the he cant come up with the full amount.
