Title: Calis Beach Forum Chat Room.
Post by: GordonA on February 27, 2014, 23:50:24 PM
Whatever has befallen our beloved "Chatroom" ?? I used to look forward to Thursday nights, when any member could join in & have a "POP" about anything, everything, & nothing !! Many a serious subject was deliberated, cogitated, digested & then spat out in favour of more ridiculous, & ultimately funny discussions ! I am having serious withdrawal symptoms. !!

I was often curious to look in but by 9pm it's usually enough of t'interweb for me - as you can see, I'm an early-bird.

I never go to be until 12.00am  I always remember what my Mum used to say, as she was like me and always late going to bed..."You sleep 1/3 of your life anyway, and life is short, why sleep any more than that?"
I did take a look in about 11.00pm last night but no one was on.   Lets make a date for next Thursday, we could have a long chat about Haggis, Gordon, or you might prefer Grouse??
As Keith said, we should use the Forum, if we don't we may loose it.

All well and good not wanting to sleep your life away Jacqui but I am usually up before 6am so not sure that counts as overdoing it on the zzzzz's?
My mum used to say we need our "Beauty sleep" ………...

Bluwise I am like you an early riser, usually awake between 6.00 and 700am my husband is up at 5.00am every morning and does not go to bed until 12.00am.  We both don't like to sleep too long and we are still beautiful. :o ;D   ;)
Scorcher instead of all your caustic remarks, why not come to the chat room and actually have a conversation of more than one line..you might like it... if you could manage to speak for about 3 sentences. :D

Part quote from Jacqui;
"Lets make a date for next Thursday, we could have a long chat about Haggis, Gordon, or you might prefer Grouse??"

Jacqui, I will be there, and more than happy to have a "Grouse" about any subject you wish, except antiques !!   ;D

Me neither, I never mix business with pleasure.   I seldom ever tell anyone what I do, when I am out, at say, a function, made that mistake years ago, it ends up everyone wants to tell you about some treasure they have and ask you what it's worth  It's amazing just how many people want a free valuation.

A friend of mine took an article to an appraisal show a few years back, he told the expert that it had been in his attic since he was a child, and he had inherited the house from his late parents, brought the said artefact out of the attic in order to find out what it was, and if it was worth anything. The expert cast his eye over it, and said, "it's worth about £50.00 for scrap, and I hope you have a plumber friend, it's your bloody cold water tank "!!!!!!!!       ;)  :o

I have to say I love my bed, and I don't get up early in the morning either.  At about 7.30 am the dog whinges outside my door and we both snuggle down for another hour or so.  When my now adult son was born he never slept more than a few hours at a time, for the first two years of his life, this made me totally neurotic about sleep.  A glass (or two) of wine in the evening and I can easily sleep for 10 hours.  My mother informs me that I was like it as a child, and while my brothers were eager to have any excuse to stay up late, I was always ready for bed. So, to get back to Gordons question 9pm is too late for me.

But you are still enthusiastic and want to keep your hand in, so are willing to take a look??? ;D :o

Re the Chat Room I have been in a few times but it does not seem to start until about 11.00pm.  So perhaps we should say we will all be there earlier??
