Weather has been a little wet during the last week, and so yesterday being a bright day I got out with the trusty mobile to take some more pictures for you to all enjoy ;)
The wet weather has fallen as snow on the mountains and being a bright day the mountains with the new snow look fantastic.

The work continues on the new prom, this shows the continuing work on the water edge path, which is now being block paved.

Here is the mini marina area generator/transformer (not sure which) done up to look like a boat, all now finished.

The rain has meant that work on a number of projects has not moved on much since last week, including the building work on Calis Beach prom. But you can see that the canal work in Calis Town, including the Water Taxi area, is moving to near completion, but they still have to do some further pointing work, coping on the top of the wall on the beachside of the river, and of course re-instate the paths and roads!! The work has still to be finished on the other side of the bridges shown in the picture below, particularly on the stretch of canal by the Hotel Pelin.

Following the request last week of pictures from Koca Calis I embarked on the perilous journey, it is after all injun territory, but I was safe as I had a day pass issued to me by Big Chief Stoop .... him heap big cheese in Koca Calis. ;)
Approaching the reservation

Not too many changes at all along the front, other than this newly fenced off area between the Escape and the Calis Beach Park. Could be it is a new council park .... not sure. Below that is the only other change which is at the back of the Calis Beach Park (where the car park and shelter stood last year) looks like there might be some work going on here and the renovation on the building next to it .. can't remeber what this area was called before the road and Calis beach Park came through!!

Great photos once more UBT - enhanced with your informative and witty captions! Thank you. :)

I hadn't realised that was Injun country.
I think we'll have to set up a checkpoint outside Sunset Beach - I'm sure we can get a job lot of 90/180 Visa stamps from somewhere.
Seriously though - many thanks for the pics - keep them coming.

Thank you for taking the time to post the pictures. Gives me hope that spring is just around the corner and returning to calis for the summer is getting closer.

Love the pics and captions UBT. Thank you and keep 'em coming. Can't believe how excited I am at coming out and seeing it all for myself - in 9 weeks and 4 days time!! ;D

Him good scout man! Chief say "Hi"
Thanks again Peter! I really appreciate the Koca Calis pictures and the ones of Saglik.
For those that don't know the area the canal often overflows in the winter. It looks a little high at the moment but hopefully the reed clearing has prvented any major flooding this winter.
-
Thank you for the update of Calis area photos, it cheers us up to look at them as we are counting the days till we arrive on 28 th may for our 17 day chill out break

The new area with the fence round ıt ın Koca Calıs next to Escape ıs goıng to be a chıldrens play area and hopefully an exercıse park.

Brilliant pictures :)

Thought this was funny today, the guys on the concrete crane got bored waiting for the next delivery, one of them grabbed hold of the rubber bit which I think is held on by a big jubilee clip, they then hoisted him up about 100 feet where he climbed onto the main steel structure. They then spent the next 20 minutes trying to get him to fall off into the river, it was dangerous but hilarious

Great photos.

Has anyone discovered yet if the gap between the two walls is going to be a walkway or not?
-
We thought exactly the same Steve. Maybe they will fill it in and grass it?
-
For plants?
-
Well done UBT, your photos are great. Thank you for taking time to share and comment on them too. Hope we get a chance to see the improvements this year ourselves. We have a lot on this year but haven't given up hope of a quick week in Calis sometime. :)

the stretch for the water taxi is a walkway. I am not sure about the other stretches where the walls are both made of stone, firstly because there does not appear to be access onto what coul be a wLk, or there is an obstruction like a bridge support, also the area between the walls is full of rubble and rubbish, and whilst they coul concrete this fairly easily for a walkway, I am not sure it us suitable or deep enough for grass or plants. The areas upstream on the main canal are being laid out, it looks like, to put in trees, plants grass and other botanical matter and possibly some paths..

Many thanks for the photos of the improvements throughout the area.I am amazed at the speed the works have been carried out.We in Blackburn,Lancashire could do with the same workmen to build our new bus station, they have so far managed to dig one small hole in 2 weeks since the start date! The view looking back towards the water taxi area is amazing and gives the whole area a very neat look, and I am sure the colourful water taxis will look great when moored along side it in the near future.

Thank you so much for the pictures. They really are worth a thousand words. You should also be pleased that you have stopped at least one person from dying of shock at the changes when we visit in 7 weeks. Hubby and I are very divided on the "changes". Whilst we both agree that these are being done for the benefit of modernisation, practicality, and streamlining, he just sees the clean lines and clear fishing areas and I want to cry at every area of reeds that are destroyed. I struggled with dealing with moving on from "the apartment down the dirt road" to "the one surrounded by block paving", too. But, we have said many times that "if only someone would put some pictures on" and you are doing a brilliant job. Thank you. (Deb)
