I have downloaded tv prog direct to my ipad so that I can watch it on my upcoming flight but it will only run if I am connected to Wifi, can anyone tell me how can I watch it with no Wifi please? :-\
-
Did you download from iPlayer?
-
You can only download to watch later without wifi from BBC iplayer as far as I know.
Install the BBC iplayer app.
Using a VPN (( if you're in Turkey ) download the programmes you want and watch later. I've got all mine ready for next week :)

No Scunner, straight from iTunes.
-
if you downloaded from itunes did you rent it? If so it should be in your videos and you should be able to watch it without WiFi- I have done it many times on flights.
-
Try switching to airplane mode and then see if it will play

Thanks for the replies folks, Cavfan, I didn't rent it, I bought the series, I'll just watch them when I have Wifi instead.
Graham, I did try airplane mode but no luck.
Linda (KK) I have gone that route now but with the poor internet connection speed, just to download 7 x 1 hour programs has taken 35 hours! So they had better work on the plane!!

Haha, mine too, has taken forever, and I bet I will fall asleep within 10 mins of watching!
Safe journey, good luck.

Just a thought. If you bought them on itunes and downloaded them - then find the 'videos' icon on your ipad and they should be in there. You shouldn't need to be connected to wifi to watch them.
If they are not in there then connect to wifi - go back in and press the icon on the top right to download them into the video section. Once downloaded they will play without wifi.
Hope this helps :)

Stoop, you are a star ;D
Works like a dream, just wish I had seen your post before I downloaded it all again from iTunes. Good for the future though thanks. ;)

Glad I could help :)

Stoop, could you please now tell me how to completely delete the videos from my iPad?
Even though I have "deleted" each episode after watching them, they still show up on the list of purchased items & the option to download again is still there.
Thanks in advance.

Without checking I think the only way to get rid of them completely will be through iTunes. If you go there and delete them it should be permanent I think.
