Title: Fenerbahce signed shirt
Post by: easyfood on April 06, 2014, 12:34:44 PM
The Murder Mystery event took place on Friday, 4th April.  However, the Fenerbahce signed shirt (by all the team) is still up for grabs.  Although we had reserve bids, it was not possible to get in contact with the people concerned.  Fenerbahce tell me that they rarely give signed shirts out, so it is quite special.  Please contact me if you know of anyone interested.  To date, the event raised in excess of 2600tl for Animal Aid.  Many thanks to all those that attended and also to those who gave generously.

Why not put it into the 3C's Charity Auction in May, this way you will get bids for it.

Not sure Animal Aid would like that :D

I don't think it will add up for 3c's to promote something on Behalf of Animal Aid. If they want to it would be greatly appreciated... we would not want to dip into their potential to raise money from their own items...   :)

I would think it would be good if you went halves as the 3C's auction gets lots of publicity and is very popular down on the seafront of Calis Beach.  ;)

Yes that is a fine idea Jacqui - and John's, how about with 3C/AA permission we start the auction on her ASAP and pass it over on Promises Auction day for any further bidding - surely with all the publicity they'd both benefit greatly from a 50/50 split?  :)

Isn't it up to easyfood who he chooses to give the money too and if he indeed wants you to auction it for him on here? I am certain he wants to do this just for AA... That was his original idea...

I would agree - I asked them in 2013 for a shirt for the 3C's but didn't get a reply. That may well have been down to language difficulties.

True, there can't be many people in Istanbul who can understand you.

I have just read this thread and I can confirm that the 3Cs would be very happy for the signed shirt to be initially auctioned on CBF for both charities in order to help both the animals and children. We would then be happy to use our annual Promises Auction next month as a vehicle to encourage further bidding on the shirt. However as Anne says it is up to Easyfood as to how he wishes to auction it off and whether he wishes all the money to go to Animal Aid  or is happy  for it to be split 50/50  between both animals and children. It may be that he has other ideas so we will have to wait and see.

No problem at all - if easyfood wants it all to go to AA then we can still kick it off on here - whatever the donor decides  :)

As far as I'm aware this shirt was donated to the Animal Aid charity for auction at the murder mystery, we had bids up to 280 lira and we are looking to improve on this.

It was being auctioned by a third party with the proceeds going to Animal Aid  :)

I think Animal Aid have lost out here.  It seemed that you may have got more if you had not closed the auction.

They lady who owned the shirt also organised the mystery murder night and the bidding should have been closed on the night, but because the highest bidders were not available she put it back out other bids, we made nearly 3,000 lira in all, thanks to the kindness and efforts of this lady and we are grateful for this amount, Thanks again all who supported the event and the organisers.  :)
