Go for the Birkenstock look instead - you know it makes sense !
-
OMG Menthol - I thought I'd clicked on my facebook icon by mistake ;)
Forgive me for saying but I hope this doesn't set a trend.
CBF rules ya bass (not you menthol obviously) :)

It's nothing to do with the sandals it's the feet. I am always surprised that a lot of people especially woman do not look after there feet and as soon as some warm weather arrives, some women slap sandals onto a pair of gnarled feet and sometimes hairy feet with unpolished toe nails.
-
Thank god I've got a dainty size 4 feet, that don't look to bad under close inspection, otherwise it would spoil my holiday knowing the feet police were out!
-
It's nothing to do with size of feet either, why, just because you have small feet do you think you can get under the foot radar? A size 3 uncared for foot can look just as bad as size 8. Looking after feet is so important as we spend most of our time standing on them. So, putting foot cream on before going to bed, filing nails and applying nail varnish is quite easy for any size of woman's feet...this applies to men too, however the nail varnish is optional. ;D :o :P
-
And who was it said that romance never dies.........?
-
Flipping Heck, it looks like rather than sitting in a Calis beach bar just people watching whilst having a chill out drink or two it will be FEET watching for hairy toes uncut nails ect , yukkkkkk >:(
-
Bluclad you need to go up to HIsaronu and watch the tourists sitting in the seats at the beauty salons. The poor girls there who are giving pedicures have my sympathy. Some of those feet have not had any care for years I have seen the salon girls picking up women's feet and with a big file going to work on the bottom of the foot, there are clouds of "white powder" in the air which is actually dead skin from the feet. Double yuk.
-
I hate feet with a passion, after 30 years of nursing I still cannot abide them. Put em away #Shudder#
-
Even if I do say it myself I do have very nice feet, they are very likely the most attractive part of me. Long and slender size 6, no dry skin, bunions or corns, don't paint my nails but do treat myself to a pedicure twice a year. I could never win a beauty competition, but do feel my feet could win a medal. p.s. would post a picture but don't want to upset angela (though one look at my feel would make her rethink her aversion to feet in general) :P
-
go for it! The very worst are the toenails that resemble pork scratchings (sorry for the grossness!!)
-
Actually laughed out loud at Angela's pork scratchings remark!!! Very visual ha ha ;D

I spend all day in heavy boots on farm, usually on my feet all day, I've got quite decent feet, not too bad at all, but I don't pamper them, varnish, moisturise etc, I must be just plain lucky to have such good luck or just down to my genes. I will be flaunting them shortly if anyone wants to inspect, or just go ahead and enjoy your holiday!!!
-
"I spend all day in heavy boots" - is that the same ones you used to wear in Scarlett of an evening ;)
-
You know me John, I'd wear anything to get to Scarlett's, usually 6" stilettos so that I can be only another 6" short of Hubby instead of the usual 12", him being a giant and me a midget!!
-
I have awful feet, despite my attempts at pampering - my original post was reflecting this.
I have no intentions of looking at anyone's feet this season or any other. The girls who give pedicures are a noble breed and I will be visiting them very shortly and making my own clouds of dried skin cells.
Oh and purple nail varnish just so my husband can tell me (very hilariously) how I look like I dropped something really heavy on both feet. Again. Ho ho ho.
-
Well my feet will be puffed up like pig's trotters after less than 12 hours in that heat so I bring sandals a size bigger every year or end up in the said flip flops for 2 weeks -
-
I personally think we should all wear what we are comfortable, and stop worrying about other peoples ugly feet and get on and enjoy our holidays, ugly feet or not, lets all just ENJOY.
-
Sunlover, that's rather lackadaisical of you. Surely staring at other people's feet is the highlight of any holiday. You know, making comments like "I bet they don't put moisturizer on their feet every night" and "Look at her. What a fright! She is on the beach and she hasn't even put on toenail varnish!". I think you are condoning this appalling falling of standards in the modern world. You'll be shopping in Kipa wearing your bikini next!

:o and leaning over the freezer with your boreks on show.....
-
Please no, whatever the age, however beautiful the body, please keep swimwear to the beach or pool, not the supermarkets, restaurants or even along the prom. for all our sakes 8)
-
I saw couple walking around Fethiye, she in a tiny yellow bikini, him in swim shorts. Also seen the same at Calis Market. However, always see lots of bare chested men walking around the shops everywhere in the Fethiye area.

I heard that some guys have a fetish about female feet. Can't understand it really as I'm a kinda normal guy. I'm just wondering though what your favourite colours are to paint your toe nails. I think a nice bright shiny red always looks nice on nice slender feet .especially when they match the finger nails and shiny lipstick to oh yes. :) ;) :D
-
Guys just like little feet on women so they can get closer to the sink...but anyways...I always treat myself to a pedicure at the "hairdressers" in Calis just up from Meeting Point. Great bargain and I don't have to put my back out trying to reach me feet!...Deb. (Paz says I have to make I don't post stuff in his name without making it perfectly clear). Last time we were there they had the "fish pedicure"..has anyone tried it...is it worth it...ok, so I know they won't put the varnish on!)

Green.

Green is a possible for my next appointment.. Hard to decide. However, nails and toenails matching is a fashion no-no. just too much.

Think I am a little too long in the tooth to be a dedicated follower of fashion. What's fashionable today, is totally "yesterday" next week! I am with Sunlover on this, too much self obsession is not an attractive quality. (should be a wink smiley here but cannot find them!)

If a person wants to look after their feet and nails and look the best they can, why should they stop caring about themselves because they get older?? Feet are extremely important and looking after them will ensure they are healthy right into old age. This has nothing to do with fashion and everything to do with common sense and personal hygiene.
Following fashion is a totally different subject it is a lot of fun and quite harmless and who would want it to stay the same, that would be really boring. ;D ;) : :)
-
Jacqui, I couldn't agree more that one should look after their feet and nails, especially as they get older, however, Engineerdave prefers toe and finger nails painted a nice bright red, not a fashion statement by today's standards, but who knows it may be in vogue next week and then you will be able to take him up on his request! ;D ;) :) :o
-
He is a man and like a lot of men they think they know what women like, red underwear for instance. However, just for Dave and his fetish...

Now you'll be in trouble. You have probably driven him wild with desire!!!!! (smilies disappeared again).

Talking of fetishes, I used to work with a girl who had previously had a job on the phones taking orders for Grattan catalogue.
A regular caller was a man who would engage the female telephone advisors in a conversation about a product and then 'turn' the conversation to footwear. His biggest pleasure in life was listening to women walk in flip-flops. In absence of the real thing to hear, he would ask the advisor to say 'flip-flop' very gently several times .......
I believe he was called Dave.
-
Yes, but what about the bright red toes, finger nails and lips. Ohhhh Mrs!!!!!! :D ;) :o
-
Oh My God ..Red underwear Jacqui you tease....silky please please... bright red toes, finger nails and lips...say 'flip-flop' very gently several times in my ear. ..This is too much I need to get away for a few days over Easter now to hopefully recover. I have a feeling though my dreams are going to be of..I daren't say it. :) :) :)
