Had an appointment at Addenbrooks Hosp Cambridge today as husband is taking part in trials there. We drove through the length of rural Essex, from the coast of the North Eastern corner, had a cursory nod to Suffolk for a couple of miles and then on to Cambridge. For some reason (and I am rural Essex born and bred) the scenery and the colours of the foilage were incredible. I thought how beautiful the villages and small towns looked as we drove through them even though there was an overcast miserable sky. Has anyone else noticed what a absolutely mind blowing spring we are having this year, or am I going slightly demented through the aging process? If so, long may it last! Those critics of Essex who avidly watch the dreadful TV programme TOWIE and maybe have never visited the County of Essex but only the London outskirts would be amazed, as I was. What a beautiful day. :) :) :)

Yep, a beautiful county spoilt by some of the people that live there.

Not sure which people you are referring to KKOB, as I said, I have lived there virtually all my life, give or take a couple of years, and I have yet to meet anyone who resembles or even speaks like those idiots who are depicted on T.V. as representative of the county.
I was just blown away today by the intense colours of the blossom, wild flowers and oil seed rape fields. Seen them all my life, but never as vivid as today.
