Can't believe it
-
Only 56. Very sad.
-
I'm genuinely gutted.
The Young Ones was part of the soundtrack of my youth and there have been so many fantastic characters, right up to his recent role as Greg Davies' dad in Man Down.....excellent live act...the guy was a legend.
I know he's never recovered fully from that quad bike accident in the late '90s but it's still such a shock.
The world has lost a comedic genius in my view.
:(

Nooooooooooooooooo what happened, why!!! :(
-
I don't remember being actually shocked by a death as I was when I read this today. A genuine genius and comic legend. We have lost out on whatever could have come from him in the next few decades.
-
A very sad day indeed especially since he survived the horrific crash 6 years ago :(
-
RIP, Wick and thanks.

Absolutely gutted....a guy who's humour carried me through my teenage years.
Some great comments from celebs and friends....this one sums up how I feel he would have liked it:
'Edmondson added: "There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing.
They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him.
"And now he's died for real. Without me. Selfish b*****d." '
Goodbye Rick (with a silent P)

I was just reading that things have not been perfect since his quad bike accident. The writer of the New Statesman was saying he spoke to Rik not so long back about the programme, but he (Rik) did not remember doing it. Very sad.

Very sad news. A truly great comedian.

I read he had epilepsy after his quad bike accident and had a fit. Such a shame and so young.
