Awful!
-
Why do the British press just put "Turkey" this country is a big place and it's like a Turkish newspaper putting Turkish man stabbed in Great Britain.
I had to Google the hospital to see it was Marmaris. However, we know the guy who was stabbed comes from Kennoway in Scotland.
-
Seems like the whole incident got completely out of hand and a young person with previously diagnosed mental problems got involved.
-
Not funny, a full story in the Scottish press, the guy had to push back his own intestines..terrible.

It says it was Marmaris in the Mirror story.

For exactly the same reason that Turkish papers wouldn't put "Kennoway". Nobody would have any idea of where they were talking about.

I take it the wholly inappropriate reply which is on Facebook has been removed? Good

We searched our copy of the Sunday Mirror as we wanted to know where it was there was no mention of Marmaris in our addition.. The difference here KKOB is Marmaris is famous and everyone in the U.K. would know where it is. It is very unlikely that a crime in Kennoway, Fife would be reported in a Turkish Newspaper.
-
Jacqui, If a Turk had been stabbed in Kennoway the Turkish press would have said "Turk stabbed in Scotland" or "Turk stabbed in UK".
Believe me, there are millions of people who have absolutely no idea where Marmaris is. It's famous, granted, but only to those that know it. ;)

Probably not interested in people with dodgy images on their computers then ? :(

So, it has now started, generalisation about "Turkey"....posting in a Scottish Newspaper today... someone has written... I also saw a similar incident in a bag shop in Turkey that is why I would never go to Turkey again.

Their loss not ours.
-
Why is it that every time an incident occurs there is someone ready to jump on the 'band wagon' & say that it happened to them or family member or friend or someone close to them?
-
I hope the young lad is ok and pulls through my thoughts are with his girlfriend an family.
