I am booked on flight dublin v Istanbul to dalaman in two weeks time, with turkish airlines can anyone tell me do these flights go into domestic airport at dalaman , and do you get your bags at that terminal as well thought I read someplace you come into domestic but your bags go into international terminal thanks Diana

Your Dublin to IST flight will land at the International Terminal and you'll have to walk to the Domestic Terminal for you flight to Dalaman. Your baggage will be transferred at IST so you won't need to collect it there. (Just confirm at Dublin that your baggage has been labelled DLM ).

Sorry maybe didn't explain properly it's when we arrive in dalaman , do we arrive into domestic terminal the old airport and get our bags here

The plane disembarks at the domestic terminal then you will be taken to international to pick up your luggage and get your passport stamped

You will arrive at the domestic airport and from there will be taken by bus to international to pick up your luggage.

No your passport will get stamped at Istanbul when you actually enter Turkey. The reason they transfer you to the international airport at Dalaman is that there is no customs at the domestic airport...

Your passport will be stamped at immigration in Istanbul, not Dalaman

Diana, let us know how it goes please. Have considered coming via Istanbul for the comfort of Turkish airlines so would be interested in what you think of the whole thing. Thanks
-
So you are bused over from plane to international airport , it's just to let airport transfer know where to pick us up ?
-
Yes, your airport transfer should be booked from international
-
That's great I'll be sure to let you know how it goes

When we flew Turkish airlines last month the plane was about 50 minutes late and there was quite a lot of people having to get internal connections so a lot of worried faces as we disembarked airline staff where waiting to get passengers across to the domestic terminal and all looked very professional and organised. I will say that in my opinion that Turkish airlines are one of the best if not the best I have flown with complementary newspaper on boarding free meal and drinks and the cabin crew couldn't do enough for you. Its a pity Ataturk airport (international arrivals) isn't as organised over 28 gates at passport control and less than half manned and hundreds of people in one cue leading to the gates no air con and the poor screaming kids having to suffer it, the only plus side no problems getting through with the evisa
