Yep, I paid 15tl for a cup of machine coffee at the Lavazza coffee outlet, but I got a free cookie!
-
Haven't bought anything from that airport in years, I go there prepared with drink and sandwiches if necessary, or the other way. Prepared to get out of there quick!!
Is the old CBF Boycott Campaign of many years ago still in place, more in spirit perhaps than form?? If not perhaps we should restart it.
-
It may be hard to believe, but this tight-fisted Scotsman paid 9tl for an Iced Tea and went completely overboard by buy one for the present Mrs H >:( >:( >:(
-
You want to sit down H. Even the memory of such an event is bound to cause problems of both a medical or non medical kind. : :) : :)
-
Hell mend anyone who is silly enough to buy ANYTHING from Dalaman Airport outlets, :o or maybe those persons just have far too much money !! As long as people are prepared to pay those prices, they will NEVER go down !! >:(
-
How true, extortionate it may be, but always a steady stream of customers willing to pay.
-
More than a steady stream i'd say as well. I can't believe how busy these places get. They are making a mint. We try to go and have a decent meal before the trip to the airport.
-
Problem is...Lambs to the slaughter, because they seem to catch out all the first timers.
We use the CIP lounge because we get it with our Bank Account, however no alcohol, but, salad and cold meat buffet, sandwiches, cakes, soft drinks and hot drinks. Comfy seats WIFI and T.V. handy if you have a long wait.
-
Isn't this a problem at all airports?
Before we went to Turkey we had a coffee, a hot chocolat and 2 slices of cake at Starbucks Schiphol (Amsterdam). Set me back 19 euro and that's just a few kurus short of 55 TL.
-
Hi Jacqui, which bank account do you need for this?
I have a Finansbank card that we can use in Ataturk airport lounge, it's wonderful.
So good, were skipping breakfast when we stay in Istanbul to fly to KL and going straight to the airport lounge.
-
Our account is with the RBS however, I know other Banks have this offer too.
-
Knowing the extortionate prices at Dalaman airport, we took some baguettes, made up for us at Café Pazar, however with this rule about not taking liquids through to departures we still had to buy a drink in the terminal, specially as we had over an hour delay on our flight, we shared a bottle of water!! I am not tight, and I ate out all the time while in Calis, but I do find it very galling that you are virtually held to ransom in these places. I can imagine if you have children and are stuck in the airport for several hours that you would succumb to the pester power just to have some peace!!
-
The Finansbank Exclusive Account gives you and a guest access to the CIP Lounge in Dalaman also the Lounges at Ataturk.
I agree that Airports worldwide are expensive and it's merely a matter of a captive audience, Istanbul Ataturk around 19 lira and Paris CDG 9 Euros for a Beer, so is it really a great difference in Price with Dalaman, some would differ I would imagine , believe it or not the UK favours in my opinion for value for money.
We need a Weatherspoons in Dalaman (Dream on )
-
How much is the CIP lounge if you don't have it with your bank?
-
Hi Jacqui
I have Rbs bank account, how does it work with cip lounge ?
-
Jenny
I believe it can be booked online , try: gosimply.com
Prices are around £20 per adult , but remember in the Dalaman Lounge Alcohol has a charge.
-
You can put liquids in your hold luggage and once you have cleared the first scanner take them out before checking your luggage in. I know you can't take liquids through to the departures area but you can drink your juice or whatever before going through. Airports, festivals and the like all take advantage of the fact that the only choice you have is 'pay up or do without', they don't seem to realise that they would have plenty of custom if their prices were realistic but it's their loss.
-
And little or no decent food to speak of - most stuff seems brought in from somewhere else. There was a time when you could smoke which was the main attraction for many !
-
You still can I think (in the designated area).
-
In recent months I have travelled to/from Pisa, Faro and Dubrovnik airports. Each one has made me more fond of our little Bristol International Airport - which I still think of as "Lulsgate Airfield".
-
All these years and didn't know I could use my Finansnank card !
-
quite true scunner you can smoke IN dalaman airport. upstairs past the duty free. it is well signposted.
-
Jack13 - forgive me but are you absolutely sure that is correct.
-
went in dalaman airport in the bar for vodka lemonlade pk crisp gave £20 waiting for change gave me 2 sweets as she had no change it would have only been about 20pence change. not sure if i enjoyed drink and crisp
-
the last time I travelled back you could smoke the smoking area is on the entry level on departures as you go through passport control turn right and it is down in the bottom right hand corner this was in june of this year :)
-
Yes correct. Was in there last night with half of the airport staff!
