Title: We Appear to Have a Puppy.....
Post by: WordBird on July 11, 2014, 18:22:53 PM
Went into Fethiye this afternoon with Mr WB, came back to find one of our Turkish friends has given our daughter a puppy. (His sister's dog had a litter.)

So.....best places to get puppy food, treats, toys etc from?
A couple of friends have recommended the 'click-and-treat' training method - can you get the special clickers out here anywhere or should I just find something else?

I've posted this in Fethiye but if there's anywhere closer to Kaya then feel free to recommend....and any tips also welcome as I haven't had a puppy since I was seven years old (a looong time ago) and didn't really do any of the 'boring' stuff with it anyway.

Thanks peeps.

Firstly I think you should take it to a vet and get it checked over and get the injections started, if you go to Kentvet in Fethiye they have a great selection of stuff and a pet shop across the road  :)

I'm glad you have taken that lying down so to speak. A puppy is a huge responsibility and if you weren't planning on getting one, well.

We weren't planning on it just yet, but never mind - it would have happened at some point so we've just gone with it.

At least we've managed to put a stop to the chickens - landlord turned up a couple of days ago and asked if we wanted any rather than just bringing them!

Taking bets on what's next - a goat, donkey, sheep?  : :) ;D
