Flights between Istanbul and Dalaman are always very reasonable even in summer.  I think we are surprised because of the cost of domestic flights in the UK are so expensive.  Wouldn't it be fantastic to be able to fly within the UK for prices such as those charged by Pegasus.  It would 'open up' the UK and allow people to explore their own country, visit friends and family and also boost the economy by getting more people to shop around the country.  It would also boost foreign travel and perhaps make the tour operators waken up and make flight prices more realistic.

I seem to remember Ryan Air offering flights within the U.K. for one penny (or was it £1)!  Wonder what happened to them!

I can remember a few years back when a couple of the UK tabloids were doing £1 flights throughout Europe. I wasn't long after I met the present Mrs KKOB and I whisked her off to Barcelona one weekend and to Istanbul the next one. Her friends thought she'd found herself an international playboy.   ;)
