A US court has ordered the country's second largest cigarette company to pay $23.6 billion (£13.8bn) to the wife of a smoker who died of lung cancer.
She claimed the tobacco company were negligent in not informing her husband of the dangers of smoking.

What's it got to do with the wife or husband? It was the court who made the award!

Did she mean they should have written to him or phoned him personally to warn him?
Not read the story so it could be he smoked before the dangers were known. If not then he must have been blind and deaf.

If the proposed 'TTIP' Trade Agreement between Europe & the USA goes ahead....! This action will be the first of many that Tax payers will ultimately be paying for!
