My Mum was born on the 7th and it was her lucky number and my Nan always said my Mum was lucky because she was born on the 7th. It was true, she won so many raffles and draws. She was once told in her and my Dad's Social Club they would ban her for always winning... She always picked a number with seven in it.

Thought provoking ????
Still believe in Father Christmas ????
What a waste of typing >:(

Father Christmas is real ! How dare you

Ha Ha !!!!!
The first post was inexcusable (IMO) and I can almost forgive Jacqui's inane
response because for once the spellink and grammer were correct ;) ;) ;)

There was a similar thing about some other flight that went down a few years ago. I think if you look hard enough you can find 'coincidences' with lots of things.

At least, every other strip in a book of raffle tickets has a seven in it
-
Very rude Kevin? ???

Yeah - it was typing in the flight numbers of the 9/11 planes and changing the font to Wingdings and it showed the twin towers etc.
That sort of thing trivialises tragic events in my opinion. :(

Yes we all knew that and for some strange reason, she nearly always picked the winner.
Kevin, the original post was trying to say the Number 7 was unlucky for some reason. I was making a point that was rubbish.
It is strange how some people can be so rude for no reason. However, I will be kind and try to understand that us polite people are in the majority.

Soz Lotty - I'm a bit sensitive about air accidents (being in the business)

Yes, I think I saw you once at the airport holding up the table tennis bats. ;D ;)

Ha Ha !!!! (I work at MOD Boscombe Down - our sister site at Farnborough are doing the crash investigation :( )
Still, on a brighter note, I'm retiring in 12 weeks - YIPPEEEE !!!!!!!
-
We're all sensitive about it Kevin, whether in the business or not, that wasn't my point.
-
Come on Scunner where are the Quote Police when we need them and it wasn't me this time ;)
-
Stop telling tales to the teacher... :D ;D
-
Can't help it Jacqui I got told off the other day and it wasn't me who did the last big quotes within quotes either ;) ;)

My ex brother in law was born 06.06.1966 and he had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. Unbelievable I know but true.

Is he from Norfolk? ;D

No, Netley Abbey Southampton village full of them ;-)

my eldest son was born 22/02/1999 and on his birthday in the year 2022 he will be 22yrs old ,22/02/2022 :D I keep telling him he will get £22 for his birthday that year ;) and he thinks im joking ???
-
Surely, he'll be 23 on his birthday on 22/02/2022?
But anyway I'm not sure that it's appropriate to be discussing trivia like this and have any links to the tragic events surrounding the downed plane.
Perhaps this thread should be closed?
-
yep so he will :o tbh Ive never worked it out before as I was told by two different doctors when he was younger that this would be his age ??? so have always thought it to be true, lesson learnt never listen to what doctors say.

Not posting in it has the same effect as locking it.
-
I respectfully disagree Scunner.
Locking it is a positive and deliberate action and therefore suggests that it isn't appropriate.
Leaving it to wither is just ignoring it IMO.
This place is an extremely useful resource and I enjoy reading the banter etc but some things just don't feel right and it's important to make a point sometimes. It's your board and you'll have your own view of course.
-
I haven't read the topic correctly it seems- what is the problem with it? It appears to be people talking about coincidental dates and the like, you need to explain why this is inappropriate.
We try harder than most to let adults discuss what they want.
-
I suspect the poster has an issue with the opening post, which was a bit... something. Not the subsequent discussion.

-
My take on this is that the dreadful business concerning the Malaysian air disaster was trivialised by numerical coincidences. Not needed IMO.
-
Perhaps it's someone looking for a conspiracy where there isn't one.
-
It is fairly unusual for members to want a topic locked but not till nearly 30 replies had been made (and 1500 views) but if that is what people feel then I shall lock it.
This is not a facebook group, we don't delete anything we disagree with. I do feel that if members find something disagreeable they avoid it, replying brings it to the top of the pile for further exposure. For the record I was not offended by the content of the original post. Posting it in entirely the wrong section is however unforgivable.
-
Must admit that number coincidences do little for me but I can't understand why some are getting upset by the OP.
I'm sure there are much worse things being said about that flight in the guise of humour.
