Title: Calis Review
Post by: Scott and Lisa on July 24, 2014, 14:39:45 PM
absolutely loved staying in Calis!

We went to : Carnival, Kings Garden, Matisse, Mancero, Moziack Bache, Sundial, Bella Mammas, Bogazici, Address cafe, and a  little pida place where the Kordon meets the harbor, everyone of them fantastic! The village breakfast at Bogazici probably my highlight, Lisa loved carnival, Salih was a pure gent at kings Garden, it was great to meet Nicola and all her team (so nice we had to go twice!)

We had the usual 5 boat trips, so much easier from Calis, rather then olu Deniz.

Loved the water taxi, 14 trips!

The Kaan hotel was superb.

Thats the best bits, the worst was meeting a couple at night who we had meet on a boat trip to watch the football, we had just sat down when they announced that there had better be loud commentary because all they could here was Turkish people non stop talking. I mean can you imagine that, people in their own country daring to talk loudly! Needless to say we didn't meet up again!

We loved Calis so much i have this morning booked next years flights! Thanks everyone for thier suggestions on where to try, next year we will hopefully be going to Sovalye.

So good you love it. You are in good company. Like your choice of eateries as well

Interesting how the majority of restaurants are not in Calis! A sign of the times and it's probably a case of the numbers not being down but people are getting better experiences and value in Fethiye! Promenading becomes Kordoning, especially seeing the numbers in the area at the weekend!

That water taxi was just too nice to resist! Coming in to fethiye as the sun turns orange, heavan.

We went on the grand Borek 4 times, and a small family run boat organised by the guests at the Kaan, I don't know the name, but a great day out with only 12 of us, and dinner was a banquet! Fantastic day out

You were lucky to get a trip with Borek, we had ours cancelled 3 times with him in June, so didn't make one trip. The weather was pretty freaky though. A brilliant trip IMO and the food is excellent, particularly given the tiny space it is prepared in. We will try with him again in September and I must agree with Scunner, that we come back from the trips absolutely shattered!

Very good review and am pleased that you had such an enjoyable holiday.  8) :D

Because of the freaky weather none of the boats were going out.  We had gales and storms, although quite hot.  Very strange.  Still better to be safe than sorry!  We have used him previously thought and would highly recommend him. :(  :)  :)

we must have missed it, we went the last 2 weeks of June.

Yes most of the restaurants are in Fethiye, we seemed to be drawn there every evening! we are thinking of staying there next September, could anyone one suggest a cheapish hotel? if there are any left in Fethiye?

we were there the 1st two weeks in June, and the weather was very uncertain, we loved it because it was cool enough to walk a lot and go on the dolmus, but hot enough to enjoy the pool.
