Title: Electronic cigarettes
Post by: nick11 on August 05, 2014, 07:59:36 AM
Does anybody know where I can get the atomisers for e cigs in Calis or Fethiye? I have seen the liquid in Fethiye but nothing else.

Thanks

I'd be interested to know where you saw the liquids. I don't think you can get the parts as the e-cigs themselves are not sold in Turkey. Lee has his parts and liquids brought out by friends.

In the tobacco shop they also sell the full kits, if they don't have them in he will get it from their other shop

I'm coming out on Saturday to Koca Calis. I don't use these things so I need good instructions, but if you tell me exactly what to get and where to get it (there are a couple of ecig shops local to me), I can bring some if you want (assuming I can get them).

Thanks to Nick11, Philrose & Jackstee for that info. Lee will be delighted that he won't have to wait for supplies anymore.

CBFers are a grand lot.

Villain that is an extremely kind offer and thank you. We normally order in online when in the UK, so I doubt there will be enough time now. I am not in a desperate need, just wanted to find out if we could get them, if needed.

Thanks to everybody else for their help.

Present company excepted if course, thus avoiding anyone thinking I am making personal attacks on people.  However, do people who use these devices not see how sad they look, as they self consciously, often in public no smoking areas, drag on their Terry Thomas look like bit of plastic?  At least some film stars in the past looked tres elegant, and dare I say it, even cool having a fag on the big screen.  Can't even see Depp with a length of plastic being able to replicate the Great Bogart scenes with a beautiful woman, a lighter or match and a packet of non tipped fags.  Give it up altogether, the fags, the plastic pipe the lot.... Not easy, but it can be done, says this, some time sanctimonious, ex forty a day smoker.

As an example yesterday, I was in the barbers for a cooling shave, and in front of me were three young Turkish men sharing a plastic pipe, blowing smoke ring etc with them.... Not sure what they thought they looked like - uber cool I suspect - but they looked like three plums to me hoping with a haircut, shave and length of plastic between them they called pull any bird they desire..... Very very sad example of what I mean!!

Graham thank you. Unfortunately we do not have single coil ones. Ours are the ones with wicks.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the anti smoking lobbyist jump in on any vaguely related post.

To eveybody else. Thanks again.

Hmmm. One person makes a comment and this makes him a "lobby"? How quaint. But at least he wasn't called a "brigade".

I didn't think my contribution was anti smoking or indeed anti smoker, it was simply an observation of how sad people look taking a tug on their little plastic pipe.

Yours aye

How can you compare tugging on a plastic pipe, with the added attraction of steam, with quaffing down a manly pint of best bitter.......

I don't generally, I let people do what they want if they want  ;)

Of course they are free to do it, I'm not stopping them enjoying their whimsy,  I just see it as amusing, that's all.  Now where's that can of manly best bitter that is calling for my attention.   ;)  ;)

I went to the fridge to get a can of Tangle Foot out and tripped over my laptop cable. Aptly named beer.

Not as stupid as someone wheeling the oxygen tank around when they couldn't give up the 40 a day

Not going to disagree with you there  Graham.  Although I didn't describe people as stupid, simply as sad.

Sucking on a plastic tube is no more stupid looking, when you think about it, than sucking on a tobacco filled paper tube. I should know, I did it for long enough.

True sat here sucking on my plastic tube instead of the 40 a day I used to smoke

I have next to me a collection of E-lites, my collection of electronic vapour ciggie things etc.  I also have 600 cigarettes from my last holiday.  However, I am now on week 6 of taking Champix and am delighted to say I haven't had a cigarette!  I never for a second thought it would work but so far, so good!  I think what I am enjoying the most about being a nonsmoker (of any form of cigarette) is not planning my next cigarette.  I love not being beholden to smoking.  However, I am also currently not drinking as the two things do tend to go together....!

Go for it lynne, well done.

Just keep thinking of all the money you're not giving the Government, how much better you

feel in the morning, how much better your food tastes, and how much longer you will live.

It's a no brainer, you're winning.

Well done Lynne, keep it up, you're doing marvellously!! You'll feel even better when you realise just how much money you will have saved per year that you used to spend on cigarettes! PS the way I stopped (many years ago) was by carrying an open full pack around for about 6 months. I knew they were there but it was my choice whether to give in. I couldn't let 'IT' beat me, and everyday was a bigger reason not to weaken. Might not work for others but I felt in control. Stay strong!    ;)

Lynne i was smoking 50 a day when i decided to go down the Champix route and like you i was a little sceptical but they were amazing and come November it will be 3 years since i had my last cig. Only very very occasionally have i actually fancied one but the craving passes quickly. I did think that i would have a problem when i was having a drink but it never happened.

If anyone is thinking of using Champix consider buying them in Fethiye they are much much cheaper than the Uk, i believe they are about 180Tl from the chemist opposite Migros in Fethiye

Gary, they are 280 lira for 8 weeks - I looked.  I simply pay prescription charges here.  You get 2 weeks on the first prescription, then another 2 weeks, then 4 weeks, then one more lot of 4 weeks, totaling just 4 prescription charges.

Thank you for the support - it means a lot!  My support worker via the doctor has never smoked a cigarette in her life!  How mad is that!

Lynne, I work in the world of cancer, but I've never had it, does that matter if her advice and support is working? Thankfully most health care professionals have never suffered from the conditions they specialise in treating.
