Hello
visiting Turkey again in September and staying in Calis beach. We would like to try coach trip from there to Marmaris or Kalkan. Anyone tried this or anyone any information please. Also is it worth visiting Dalaman for a day -whats there?
Any info will be appreciated.

Seriously, Dalaman is the Turkish Luton - apart from the airport there isn't much to see :D
Kalkan is lovely, rather than Dalaman perhaps Dalyan - lots to see there. Kas too, and if you fancy a trip round a few Roman sites you've a good choice :)

A really good trip would be Tlos---Yakapark---Saklikent. All in one day and local.

Marmaris is a 3 hour journey, so six hours in all in a coach. Kalkan is a nice little place we often go there. There are very steep lanes down to the harbour and beach, so if you have any walking difficulties it may not be the best place for you. However, if you don't wear some flat shoes with backs on them and you will be fine. Some nice restaurants down at the harbour and lots of little shops. Catch a bus there from Fethiye.
Kevin's idea is good, you can book a coach to take you for the day to Tlos, Yakapark and Sakilkent
Also you could consider a day trip to Rhodes.

If you got to the Otogar in Fethiye, you can catch the buses to all the local resorts and further afield and it's not expensive! :)

If you dont want to travel to fethiye for coach ,go up to gunlukbasi there is a coach office there and they speak good english i think there name pamukula .

Sarigerme and sarsazlar beaches near Dalaman are lovely.
There's also Akkaya gardens up that way with a lovely restaurant with tree birds nests to sit in. Lovely food and beautiful setting.

Is Marmaris as much as 3 hours away was thinking of hiring a car late October when we are over and heading that direction google maps says 2 hour 20 just with shorter day light that time of year would need to get early start to make it worth while if it was

It's much quicker by car than bus - even driving fairly leisurely you could be there inside 2 hours.

The road from Dalaman to marmaris has been made a duel carridge way and re surfaced it is quite a quick journey now I did it in 1hr 40 from fethiye
