Leading on from a Facebook topic about Marmite. What do you know you don't like but never tried? Mine is brown sauce and pork pies? Mrs Scunner's seem to be lasagne and prawns. Are we the only potty people out there? :)

Sorry
Ok caviar :)

No problem H x

I have never had vegetarian sausages but I know they are cr4p!

How do you know? Ha ha Never had a roll mop herring but wouldn't try that either. Or trifle, what's that all about yuk!
-

-
Trifle is a gift from the Gods :D
-
Tripe..nah just couldn,t :-\
-
Trifle has that crumbled stuff at the bottom :( moe, never been "allowed" to buy a tin corned beef cos mum said I would cut my finger of with the key lol. If she was still here I would ask her to explain lol

Sheep brains.
-
Octopus squid calamari never tried them, never will, are they the same thing? :)
-
I'm with slikmrs and the tripe and Jacqui and the brains. Had an argument with my Mum recently who insisted the deli counter in Kipa was serving tripe from a huge tray. I tried to convince her it was in fact very large pieces of pickled white cabbage but she wouldn't believe me.
Have tried caviar, H but it was a bit meh. Perhaps it wasn't really good caviar.
I tried calamari for a tentative second time recently when I stole some off slikmrs' plate. It was my last time.
And for me, I just know I'd HATE haggis.
-
Oh and cheers oscarj, I now have a craving for trifle. Specifically my Dad's trifle.
-
Haggis is O.K. actually. I tried it at a Burns Supper a long time ago and found I liked it. I have also tried caviar, but was not keen. I don't mind octopus or squid either. i used to buy my Grandmother Tripe in the market in Liverpool. I had to ask for the thick seam... It looked awful but she loved it.
My Son in Law was working in Baku and the delicacy there was chickens feet...yuk. I would definitely not try them.
-
Ah, trifle - shop bought ones I mean and I have a bit of a thing about these. I've tried all of the supermarket ones and the good old Co-Op wins every time for me !
Pet hate - broccoli !

I've never tried that Italian cheese that you eat with the live maggots that were born inside it, but I don't think I'd enjoy it.
-
You are kidding aren't you Scunner...........
-
Not at all, I'm out now but I'll post details later.
-
Bread and drippin anyone?? Laden with a good dash of salt mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Gooseberries .......... you can stick them where the sun don't shine. I'd never advocate eating anything hairy, and I am not sure I'd eat them if they have had a shave either!! ;D ;D

Casu Marzu is not your average cheese lover’s cheese. The name of this Sardinian speciality literally translates to “rotten cheese.” And if that’s not enough to scare you away, how about a few thousand wriggling maggots?
That’s right. Casu Marzu, otherwise known as walking cheese, is an Italian sheep’s milk variety with a little something extra. You could say it’s alive. Very alive.
How Casu Marzu is Made
Casu Marzu begins as Pecorino Sardo (Fiore Sardo), a cheese that’s typically soaked in brine, smoked, and left to ripen in the cheese cellars of central Sardinia. But to produce Casu Marzu, cheese makers set the Pecorino Sardo outside in the open – uncovered – and allow cheese flies (scientifically named Piophila casei) to lay eggs inside of it.
As the eggs hatch into a myriad of white transparent maggots, they feed on the cheese. By doing so, they produce enzymes that promote fermentation and cause fats within the Casu Marzu to decompose.
Sometimes, cuts are made into the rind of Pecorino Sardo and already-hatched maggots are introduced into the cheese. This speeds the whole cheese making process along.

Thank you Steve
Videos may get the experience across well - here is Gordon Ramsay, certainly appearing to enjoy his cheese a la live maggot

Jellied Eels :( :( :(
-
I will try anything once you need to try these foods you never know you may like it.
-
You'd try that cheese ringo? :D
And me too Andy (AOK) - there isn't much I won't eat and I love fish/seafood but while I can't say jellied eels is a food I haven't tried but know I won't like, I can see it is a food I HAVE tried and really didn't like one bit!!
-
If we were blind folded and not told what it was other than 'cheese, seafood or meat whatever' I'm sure we'd be very surprised at what can be enjoyed! ;)
-
Yes Scunner I would love to try that cheese. Why not?
-
Cos there are live maggots wriggling around in it :D
-
Stewed sausages. Just typing those 2 words makes me gag. Hate anything in jelly and would never eat tripe. :o :o
