Title: Opticians
Post by: JambeckGill on October 02, 2014, 07:12:02 AM
I have lost my varifocal glasses and need to replace them ASAP. Please can anyone recommend a good optician, preferably one that speaks English.

Genc in Fethiye I find really good and helpful. The man in there can speak English which is a great help. I also find them really good for prices. Nothing is to much trouble for them and if they say a date they will be ready, they always are there waiting for you.

It's in the "red carpet" area of Fethiye; Cem opticians on a corner of the main road towards the PTT & one of the red carpet side street, head down the side street & Genc is just on the opposite side to Cem.

If I take my UK prescription from a very recent and comprehensive eye test, (5weeks ago) can they use that or do I need to have another eye test?  :D

Alice Optics,
Opposite the small Migros and Limon Restaurant in Fethiye just along from the much recommended English speaking Chemist,Ali the owner speaks excellent English.
Has all of the equipment needed to shape lenses to fit frames in the shop.

Cem Optic offer an excellent service.  Last year Rich damaged his frame but the lenses were fine, we went to Cem Optic with a view to having the lenses put into a new frame. Unfortunately they didn't have a frame that fitted perfectly and didn't want to cut them because it would have affected the reading part.

He had been going to get a spare pair anyway.  Whilst the lens were being made, they fitted his new frames with single vision lenses,  as a temporary measure, at no extra charge.  When our friends brought his replacement frame they fiited the lenses free of charge.

It takes 3 days.  You will get them back on Thursday but probably in the afternoon.
