Another great "Rock Icon" leaves us to join "The Great Gig In The Sky". Cream were one of my favourite rock bands and definitely pointed me in the direction of great music.

What a shame, I know he had not been well for a while. My husband always loved Cream, his favourite group, he got me into them a long time ago.

A great musician, a truly great bass player, and not a bad singer and songwriter either. A sad loss for the world of music.

this explains why his concert in Liverpool was cancelled, just before we returned to Turkey. We were gutted to miss the concert, but more gutted that we will never have this opportunity to watch him live again. RIP

Sad loss indeed, RIP Jack and thanks.

Saw him in June 1975 in the Apollo, Glasgow:--Jack Bruce Band with Carla Bley, Mick Taylor(Stones), Ronnie Leahy (Stone The Crows and Nazareth) and Bruce Gary(The Knack)
I know it was showmanship but the encore was Mick Taylor playing the Riff from "Sunshine of your Love" and Jack Bruce unwilling to involve himself with "previous Cream" songs. He stood in the wings shaking his head and protesting that he was no longer interested --- only to be invited by the insistent familiar guitar riff and the clamour of the Apollo audience. He emerged to rapturous applause and the sunshine was in Glasgow for that evening. The Apollo was a fantastic venue and Jack Bruce played it to perfection.
Thanks Jack for songs that were the soundtrack of our youth.
My own favourite Cream track is "Badge"--- a fabulous bass intro.
