Apparently, under plans for HS3, journey times from Manchester to Leeds could be cut from 48 to 26 minutes.
Can someone please tell what are the benefits, economic or otherwise, of that statistic.

If you've regularly travelled between Manchester and Leeds by rail or on the M62, you'd understand.

They are looking to run it from Liverpool to Hull

The benefits of arriving more quickly in Manchester after having spent time in Leeds cannot be understated.

It means you can set off 20 min later - or have an extra 20 mins at the airport ;)
Joking apart it will probably be a godsend for business commuters as the journey by rail is a nightmare at the moment. Crowded trains and no seats at peak times. I understand they are also putting on extra trains with this scheme.

We would just like a train, steam would do us >:( :(
