Title: Credit Cards That Offer Airport Lounge Access?
Post by: Scunner on November 03, 2014, 00:20:41 AM
I'm sure we discussed this but things change over the years. Can anyone recommend a CC with benefits, specifically lounge access? I don't mind an annual fee but don't want to pay the £450 a year American Express want for their Platinum Card!!

Not what you are looking for but for those in Turkey - Finasbank xclusive CC offers free use of VIP lounge at international airports in Turkey only. You get met and accompanied on arrival at the airport both incoming and outgoing, baggage collected and carried for you, you get to zoom around in a motor thingy and jump to the head of the queue at passport control.

Nice if you flying abroad out of or into Istanbul.

I haven't used them but check out  www.prioritypass.com.

Their "Standard" card costs £62 per year and gives you access to a Lounge for £15. Their "Standard Plus" card allows 10 visits to a lounge in 12 months and costs £143. Their "Prestige" card allows unlimited access for 12 months and costs £233.

All UK airports are covered as is Dalaman.

I suppose that it depends on how many times you fly in 12 months but on the face of it it looks like a good offer.

The problem with some cards is you pay an annual fee and then £15.00 per visit, however, it is £15.00 each for the people you sign in.
A lot of Banks offer a card with certain accounts, i.e. NatWest, Lloyds, RBS.  So, if you have a joint account, you get a card each, but still would have to pay £15 each for the girls.

There are so many cards, union memberships, corporate tie-ups etc that allow use of VIP facilities that anyone, including X-Factor winners, can use them these days.

We have a Barclays Bank account, for £13 a month we get family travel insurance and full RAC breakdown cover home & abroad. It also gives you an airport angel card with 6 free visits per year to most international airports (inc Dalaman). We were paying more than £160 per anum for travel insurance and breakdown anyway, so the airport pass is a free bonus to us - check your bank as an option.

Groupon or Living Social had a good offer on not so long ago - I'll post if I see it again!

Hi Nichola,
Just wondering how you got so many benefits at the airport.  I shall be using my same card at Istanbul soon and only thought I could use the VIP lounge as normal.  Did you inform them of your movements prior to going?
