Sorry, I do not like this place, the loud music they play every night is a pain, please someone tell them, we don't want Hisaronu, we want a peaceful Calis Beach.

I agree with JH - we were in Vojos one night and they had music on, which we couldn't hear a note of due to the excessive din from this place - for hours and well past midnight. Hardly high season either - this was sleepy mid October!! It only takes one neighbouring establishment to go head to head on noise and a competitor to Hisaronu main street won't be long in coming.

If I sound like a miserable old git it is because I am. That's why I don't holiday in Magaluf.

Animal Aid have been running a quiz at Vojo's for the past 7 weeks and it has been very popular, and very well-attended, raising significant funds for their on-going work.  Vojo's and Animal Aid deserve much praise for making Thursday nights so entertaining.  I hope your quiz night is equally successful.

Y'know, it really weees me off when someone , anyone , moans and whinges about the volume of music emanating from certain establishments, whether in Calis, Hisaronu, or elsewhere, if you are unsettled , or annoyed by it, pay your bill and bugger off to another, quieter establishment. The most simple answer to the problem !!

Does that still work when the place you are in isn't the one that is drowning everything adjacent out (including the Promises Auction in May)? If the place I am in is too noisy I will of course move - but this was next door, and all we could hear. The volume was incredible. We even thought of staying at the Delta next year until we discovered the volume of this place, and how long after midnight they just carry on regardless.

No wonder so many people on here prefer to eat in Fethiye.

Very true Keith, could also probably have something to do with the food, service, and presentation, being  much better too. IMO.

If people moved because of the noise then the Nil Bar and Vojo's would loose their customers.  They happen to be very popular venues that are unlucky enough to be next to this awful new place, a place I refuse to give my custom to. I also remember them tried to drown out the 3C's Auction in May.

I would though, recommend Vojo's Quiz night that helps the Animal Aid.  A very good night out totally enjoyable.

this thread is getting too personal. why don't people who don't live here during the winter months leave us alone to help a bar who are staying open during the winter. what has the volume of music during the summer got to do with a winter quiz. summer months and winter months are 2 different animals.

oops sorry you don't LIVE HERE.

Seriously, I wouldn't go down that path if I were you...

this thread is getting too personal.

The only person being "personal" to other members is you.

Do you feel that because you "LIVE THERE" your opinion is more valid or important than members who choose not to?

Lorraine and I attended the SECOND of the auctions this year, we were in Nil Bar, others complaining on here were next door, in Bambu, NOT Nil Bar !! The gentleman who owns The Beach Bar actually made a profound apology re. the volume from his premises during the First Auction, and stated his intention to do all that he can in future, in order to assist in fund-raising.
On the subject of Vojo's, I like the place, I LOVE karaoke, BUT, we have, on occasions, refused all attempts by the " greeters " of Vojo's, to enter the place, or even to sit outside, due to the horrendous volume levels of THEIR music ! So please, let's get over this continual slagging off of one place in particular. Some people cannot see any farther than Nil Bar, for others it is Bambu, or any one of the many bars / restaurants in Calis / Fethiye.

Sorry you don't know the full story of the loud music the first night, if you did you would not have written this post.  I though most of us knew why they turned up the music up to drown out the Auction.  It was very petty and a cruel thing to do. Of course the guy said he was sorry, after lots of conversation and persuasion with him.
However, it was well done to George who did is best during the loud music to carry on with the Auction and for his good negotiations with the guy.

How has a thread advertising a new quiz venue for the winter months degenerated into a slanging match about music playing on the night of the 3Cs auction.  Actually I was with a group on the first night of the auction in the Nil bar and we were not aware of any loud music. Maybe it was because we were enjoying ourselves so much we were oblivious to any outside influences.

Post by: Scunner on November 15, 2014, 20:07:35 PM
Initially I was neither involving myself in.a 'slanging match' nor talking about the Promises Auction. I was agreeing that they ignore the general level of noise in Calis and it can't be good for adjacent businesses or the future of the resort in general.

The point that Vojos was playing excessively loud music only serves to prove my point, that it only takes one to start it then the level is on it's way down the entire prom.

The guys in this bar did apologize at the time.. They owners  happen to be very good friends of mine and actually very nice men...Give them a chance.. Not many places open in The Winter in Calis... Whether a night time quiz is a good idea or not I don't know as the more popular ones take  place in the afternoon's. Apart from the AA one at Vojos... They made one mistake can we let it drop.

If they made one mistake in May, why was the music in their bar almost deafening in October?

What I cannot get my head around is that why establishments think that they will attract more customers by screwing up the volume.

As a Business Plan, given the "average" (yes a generalisation) Calis tourist, I would have thought it was fatally flawed.

" H " , do you really believe that " Business Plan ", & " Turkish ", should EVER appear in the same sentence ??

Agggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..........

OK substitute savvy for Business Plan.

Why do they assume that LOUD equates to a reason why people would want to frequent an establishment.

Well we have decided to have a bit of extra fun next week by taking part in our own quiz - take on Eddie Waring voice - mini mara..thon!! Monday night the General Quiz at Hazels in Hissy, Tuesday night The Morning Star in Ovacik, Thursday the AA quiz at Vojos Calis, Friday back to Hazels Bar in Hissy for the specialist music quiz...oh yes and Wednesday we are supporting Kim and co. at Beach Bar for their new quiz.  We would have fitted in Uzumlu, but something had to give, but perhaps the following week? Come on Team 'Frederick All'.

Used bustickets, you have forgotten the 3Cs  Friday afternoon fun quiz at 2.30 pm at Eyna if you can fit it into your very busy schedule. This quiz has been running for the last 2 years. With quizmasters Pete and Jan alternating each week, the quiz has a 40 question general knowledge round, a fun table top picture quiz and a music round. Great fun and a bottle of wine for the main quiz winners and smaller prizes for the music and picture quiz winners. Also great cake and coffee at the Eyna or real Yorkshire tea if you prefer.

I wish the Beach House great success with their new quiz. I have no axe to grind with the owners (in fact have no idea who they are). Could one of the questions be "Does you music throughout the season be a bit lower?" - maybe someone could just ask on behalf of the tiny minority who like Calis because it isn't like Falaraki  :)

No we had not forgotten the 3Cs fun quiz, but it is on the same time as Turkish lessons. So unfortunately once again something had to give... I am beginning to think this mini marathon could turn into a full marathon if We are not careful. Cue Eddie Waring voice "Well 'ere we are for the mini mara..thon, they've got some big lads, ready for the oop 'n under in the picture quiz, aaaaaah but they got some game lasses in the anagrams, and ehh a big team effort for the music questions.' I can see Eddie W now standing on the Calis Beach resplendent in his striped summer blazer ready for another edition of It's a knockout.

Scunner and  Jacqui I have booked one of these each for next time you are out and down the prom, but you'll have to bring along your own blanket to cover your legs.  The wicker bath chair does come with it's own complimentary pair of ear plugs for when you pass by or stop nearby a noisy bar on venue.  ;)

What on earth are you trying to do Pete? you know the prom is dangerous enough with bikes, scooters, skateboards and those stand on things (whatever they are called) and now you want to give our Jacqui and Keith a bloody bath chair. Well I have been busy this afternoon negotiating  a way around this, and im happy to say it is all sorted out now. and here is a picture of the happy couple. Jacqui and Scunner heading off down the prom for a couple of beers.   :)

Oh he has regulars! Amazing as he told me he had no customers and couldn't pay the electricity bill. Maybe he will bring himself to send some money for his 9 year old son....who he is not supporting. I don't think 1 christmas and just over £500 in 9 years is good enough. I don't know how anyone can help him make a profit knowing he doesn't support his own son and doesnt care whether his own son eats or not. Guess we all dont have the same standards or morals do we. Hey ho,  so long as apo/apollo has his fags, booze and money in the till.....enjoy your quiz. I do hope the tax authorities jump on the beach house soon!

"Our quiz"...this is not personal  against you jack but your promoting a business that already has a very bad reputation to start with in upsetting people in calis. I have a  issue with apo/apollo who chooses not to financially support his son. He doesn't even speak to him...let alone feed him. I pay for everything for my son while he lords over a business like the king of the castle.....his son could starve and he wont send a single lira. I had to ask for my other post to be removed as apo/apollo had a staff member sending my 9 yr old horrible messages for me....but sending them to my son....his own son! I am entitled to post my opinion on the beach house and the food is crap, the drinks are watered down and cheap alcohol filtered into brand bottles ( hes done this for years) and the kitchen is filthy and it stinks. My personal opinion. ..apollo gulmus has already been reported to the relevant authorities in fethiye, enjoy your drinks....I personally couldn't fund a mans profits or assist him in his business knowing what you know.  If I have to publically name and shame him into his responsibility as a father then so be it. I could have gone into a lot more details such as death threats against myself and my son,  kidnapping threats against my son and the fact his uk visa was cancelled due to these threats with the police and uk immigration authorities but I will leave it at that for now
