Title: From Sat to Chef's
Post by: philrose on December 07, 2014, 08:42:26 AM
The former Sat restaurant  as of last week is now called Chef's. Apparently the new owner/chef is passionate about food and aims to make it one of the top eating experiences in the area. It sounds all very interesting, we shall have to wait and see if he can deliver...

Well it's certainly a fabulous location, it could be amazing if the food is right and the prices aren't too ridiculous!   ;)

Agree Lottie, if the food is good and not a hit or miss as it was before, it would be a great place to eat

Echo all the above.  Have always loved it there, the location is fabulous.  If the food, and service, are to be impoved then it should be well worth trying again next year.

Well this will be interesting to see if they can improve the Sat.  My own experience of the place is different to the other comments above, I found the food average but expensive, and the service was what I can only describe as both arrogant and indifferent.

Dined at Chef on Saturday. It was a bit like a ghost town with one other table occupied in the large room. The food was one of the best meals I've had for ages, the prices reasonable and the service excellent.
Will be going again.

Great news, I'm looking  forward to going there, like everyone else we found it had gone down hill over recent years, which was a great shame.

Not a lot to do to improve it IMO. Over priced and over rated.

But a great position.

Called up there in September for a drink. 25 lira for 1 efes and 1 fresh orange!!. And the service was probably the worst I have ever experienced. Let's hope they have new waiting and bar staff as well as a new chef! We were very disappointed.

I don't know what's happened but I noticed yesterday that all the signs at the restaurant had been changed back from Chef's to Sat. Only in Turkey.....

You have just jogged my memory Phil that I meant to post on here re the Sat...
I came across their page on facebook I think it is called the Sat Beach club (will double check later) anyway I commented on something on the page and a person said if you have any questions please pm me so I did and I said that a lot of people had loved spending the day at the Sat until the charge for sunbeds was brought in, I received a message back saying they would not be charging for the sunbeds this season providing people were buying drinks food etc, the message said any more questions please ask, so I messaged back and said (tactfully I thought) that also the prices on the lunch time menu were pretty steep in comparison with a lot of their "competitors" at the other end of the beach and would the prices be going back to a sensible price this season, that was about a week ago now and have not heard back as of yet!
Many a lovely and relaxing day we have spent at the Sat in the past but unless the prices go back to being in keeping with everyone else we wont be returning...
