Terribly sad, a tragedy.  It is hard to put in words the shock you feel when something like this happens.

It's horrendous.
Coming barely a year after the helicopter crash that hit the Clutha, it really makes you feel for the people of the city.  :(

I was chatting to my youngest daughter on her phone yesterday - she'd just been for an interview and had popped into Greggs on the corner of Queen St at the south side of the square for some lunch.  We nattered away as she walked from Greggs, up Queen St, towards the station heading back to work.  She just got back to her office when this tragic accident happened.

One very shook up young lady...  and one very relieved father.

Truth be told I'm pretty pi$$ed with hearing politicians etc prattling on about the "spirit of Glasgow".  Six folks lost their lives three days before Xmas - will this wonderful "Glasgow spirit" make their losses any easier to bear?  I dont phuking think so.

So glad your daughter is safe and well JohnF

Couldn't agree more with your last paragraph.

The reporting on Reporting Scotland was verging on appalling in my opinion. Spinning the programme out to meet the schedule was just awful.

Such inane comments as " There were dead people who looked in a bad way" and asking one man why he laid flowers.

And with absolutely no disrespect, they kept repeating that the ordinary people of Glasgow ran to help. As if the people of Inverness, Aberdeen or Edinburgh would have walked away. Aggghghhhh

I watched Sky News talking by phone to members of the public at the scene.
These people were saying how shocked and disturbed they were by what they
had just witnessed. This wasn't enough for the Sky guy and he repeatedly tried
to get them to describe the scenes in more detail. It was disgusting.

The names and some pictures of those killed have just been released, three from one
family.  So tragic.

An absolute tragedy but why has the City Council and the Scottish Government set up a fund with £ 60,000.
