For those that didn't know - you have to click on the old image and it will fade into the modern day version of the same setting. Excellent.

No I have not seen them before however know both Morton in the Marsh & Ste Mare Eglise the later celebrate liberation by hanging a model paratrooper from the Church Tower between 6th June & end of Sept each year.
If anyone has seen the film "The Longest Day"  actor Red Buttons takes the part of the real paratrooper to whom this happened.
There is also a museum to the landing and the gliders opposite the church. Many of the display items have been donated and some were actually film props. Worth a visit.
So are many of the restaurants in the area.
